good luck getting a gig, breaking in to anything isnt easy, and its really more about who you know

heh... about hip-hop
seems most people who listen to it, have no real passion for the music. they are drones and just go with whats popular with the majority to be accepted. most people here on TA share a great appreciation for our music, there are some of the best people in this scene.
i used to like some hip hop back in the day, still do, but only when it's good stuff, not this grossly overplayed thats on the radio, how can people willingly listen to this crap over and over again... i swear if i gotta hear that "yea yea" nelly song one more time i'm gonna shoot somebody. hah, no wonder they say rap influences violence!!

Werd X 1,000,000, It seems people in the scene knows the difference between quality music and that crap that's pushed in the mainstream. Really rap and hip hop has gone down the drain every since it lost 2 of it's greatest.

Simply the are whores of the music industry with no real input or care into their music, I mean listen to the lyrics of some of the songs, "dip it low, pop that thang" sigh. I love electonic music thank God for it.

I see that you are from Austin, my brother is out there and I will be visiting him soon, what are the good clubs that you would recomend out in Austin ? (trance etc.)

Thanks!

Yes! This one new club is opening this week and I will most likely be spinning trance there on the weekends. It's called Nuno's and is located at, I think, 411 6th Street. There is also Club Eternal that is about to open soon that is practically next door to Nuno's. These are the only two good dance clubs in Austin... we didn't used to have any good ones. There is Sky/Vue... but they play too much house for my tastes, and their dance floor is too small and it gets really crowded.

Nuno's entire 2nd floor is devoted to the dance floor, a good looking bar, and a DJ booth proudly looking over everything. The 1st floor has a nice lounge and "VIP" area. I can't wait to go tomorrow! Hope I get to spin =)

Ive lived in Orlando and Miami - Miami is by far the best place to live.. Orlando scene used to be crazy until Richard Crotty pulled that rave law out of his ass a few years ago... now the scene is not all that great. I think the only club playing Trance on a regular basis is Maniquins.. and it's all the bubblegum .

Would love to see Firestone go back to its old roots someday.

I can't believe ICON is all Hip-Hop... and Tabu is basically the UCF frat boy crowd drinking $10 all you can drinks.

Miami.. by far is the best.. and to anyone scared to come down here because of the crime... do your research.. find a nice area to live in... and you will have no problem. Every large city has crime.. so dont keep that from letting you move down here.

That's what i love about Miami - It has a scene.. and it's getting better each day. Here, you tell someone that you left a club at noon.. they dont look at you like you are some drugged up crackhead.

I've met the owner of Iconz last year when he had Ferry Corsten come out. He's a European guy, I think from the Netherlands maybe.

You can't blame all these clubs for joining the masses with the hip-hop. He says he loves electronic music, but if he had big EDM DJ's come out all the time he wouldn't make decent money. He only gets some electronic music out there as a treat to himself every so often. If he gets em to come out once in a while, the enthusiasts are sure to show up and support.

Hip-hop is making craploads of money so its what he has to stick to as his bread n' butter.
