let me say something, cuz all of you are just pissin me off
we here at TA as a community have a unique opportunity to know ahead what tracks are going to be played at a particular set... everyone in the states KNEW!! that all of those tracks were already played both in montreal and in toronto... and then you go and see him live, and you come back and start sayin like, "OMG, HIS SETS ARE SO PREDICTABLE"... well what you are doing is not fair at all!! if you are going to judge his or anyones set for that matter, judge it by the way it was thrown together and the vibe!! dont judge him because you knew what he was going to play! |

And why do you say that when "Jokenfold" sounds far more like Oakenfold? |
Rui Da Silva may be a man but the vocalist is a WOMAN & she performed!
U are soo ing annoying Paul! How many times are u gonna tell me this?! It's tired! I don't care if Jokenfold sounds more like Oakenfold. I like calling him Oakenjoke! If u don't like it, don't read my in posts! I'm sick of ur bitching. |

C'mon...get with it...if you have access to the web you have access to many recent sets of many diff DJ's. And its got nothing to to with TA. I mean I've heard PvD sets and then he would come to NyC and ofcourse some songs would be the same...but it would not be the same track for track. That is weak and I'm sorry but I expect more from someone who has access to all these new tracks before they hit our lil hands. It's one thing to play a few key tracks...whether they be new or old in a set time after time...but not the whole same set just in diff venues...c'mon that is weak. I mean I had a great time regardless. I danced my ass off. But I'm not going to deny that Tiesto isnt what he should be. My cousin made a good point to me one day...when a rock band tours you expect them to play alot of songs from their recent album to promote it. It's expected. And when you see a dj spin you expect new fresh hits put down in a way to take you for a trip. To inspire you..to make you feel emotion. Then some anthems or new tracks of the particular dj should be allowed but im sorry your whole set should not be your same old stale songs. Like I said, I danced my ass off..I had a good time but Tiesto's set was seriously lacking emotion for me. |

The programming was decent. Biggest hands in the air tunes were Open ur eyes & Silence.
Look this was his 2nd time here we expected & DERSERVE a special mind blowing set not the standard cookie cutter set he plays everwhere! Tiesto NEEDS NEW Records! NYC is hurting right now! It's downright insulting that Tiesto plays the same set of old tunes in the states. Does he think we are not up to date on new tunes?! Playing 2.5 hours of old tunes = Oakenfold! |

That's insulting. When u have a 2 hour time slot u bang out new tunes like PVD. Tiesto pulled an OAKENFOLD! His entire set consisted of old tunes. He just threw down athems. The programming was decent. Biggest hands in the air tunes were Open ur eyes & Silence (which was overly dramatic).
NYC deserved a special mindblowing set. Tiesto gave us his standard typical cookie cutter set that he plays everywhere. The tix were expensive & some ppl waited online for 2 hours. No one is complaining that they had a bad time. We were just disappointed w/his track selection. |

Hmmmm...I wonder if this was directed towards me:rolleyes: ....yea welllll, hi....maybe the reason why I consider him as an "EXCELLENT DJ" is because those of us who are fond of Tiesto and his past performances & general production as a whole would definately agree that he IS in fact an "EXCELLENT DJ". Is this not true? I've always considered him as one of the top 5. Why shouldn't I? I mean the guy knows his ...I was there and for what ever reason may be, yes his set @ WORLD did have its flaws that were quite disturbing but it...no one is godamn perfect all the time....that's not going to change my whole opinion on him. He's done some good in his time and one night will not change that. Besides I had a great time! As a matter of fact, each and every rare moment I get a chance to see him here in the U.S., I have had the time of my life!!!
So it's too bad that not everyone shares the same opinion on him, but frankly, I wouldn't sit here and care for it...as long as he satisfies me, he's ok in my book. :D |

I just wanna ask you people, how many times have you seen Tiesto live?
Now, how many times have you seen Armin or Marco V live? How many times were Tiesto/Oakenfold in States? Now, How many times were Armin/Marco V in states?
The point is - while Armin and Marco V are browsing record stores and listening to millions of tracks, Tiesto and Oakenfold are busy touring the world. That's what happens when you get popular. When you are popular and everybody wants to see you spin, you constantly travel all over the world. When the hell are you gonna have so much time on your hands to select 50 or whatever new records every month? Especially when there aren't that many really great Trance records right now.
Besides, when a DJ is paid 10K for a gig, he feels certain responsibility to please the crowd. If he is gonna throw "untested" tracks for his audience in US, which doesn't often get a chance to see him, he might screw up. He knows that, that's why he plays tracks which he knows will make most people happy.
Now, say whatever you want, but Tiesto is consistent. ALL of his sets from 2 years ago were great. ALL his sets from this year are great.
I can't say the same about Armin or Marco V. Personally, when I hear Armin next month, I'd rather hear him spin anthems and some new stuff, rather than material he spins on his ID&T show, which often sucks. |

I have one question, If Tiesto spun new that was not nearly as good as the tunes he spun, would you bitch about how bad his set was?
of course you would.
I have loved trance for two years now and dont listen to anything else. I have not yet reached the point where i can name every song i hear, partly cause i just cant place the tune to the name and also cause i dont give a . If there is trance music and its loud im happy. Especially when there is 3000 people to share the energy with. Maybe you did not go on a lovely journey cause you were too busy with your pen and paper criticizing tiesto and his tracklist.
Also check out his newest Essential mix and see if there are all those tracks you mentioned. WE ARE NOT IN EUROPE, dont expect the new stuff, you want the best of the best go to amsterdam. |
