| I dont believe, friends, it takes pen and paper to ID a song. When you hear For an Angel or Silence you dont have to write it down or think about or spend any time or energy to remember it. Of course if you are ed up and cant remember anything anyway that is a different story and then what the dj plays is of no use, and neither is pen and paper. |

| Part of the reason Tiesto is so popular is because he produces and remixes so many songs that become so popular. Naturally hes going to spin his trademark songs like Urban Train or Flesh when you go see him, and I think that most people who do so know that in advance. So it seems rediculous to bitch about him being 'predictible' -- granted, he might not spin the freshest most up-to-date mix of current songs, but he does create an incredible vibe and energy, which makes him so unique. So give him a break, hes a very talented DJ and producer and deserves lots of respect if you love that type of trance. He's not a DJ like Nick Warren or Dave Seaman where you never know what youre going to hear when you see him. He IS predictable, but thats part of the fun of seeing him spin - because you KNOW youre gonna hear so many *incredible* songs -- not some boring . |

Exactly my point too... You have all these DJs coming in from whom you don't know what to expect, and most of the time they it up playing some unknown e, brand new releases (just testing the crowd), while DJs like Tiesto and alike bring you the tunes that you want to hear - older anthems that were proven to please the crowd (maybe cuz there were no good anthems released this year), and a couple of new hits too... all in all, they know how to please the crowd, create the energy and vibe everyone is expecting.
Therefore, props to Dj Tiesto and Euro Djs... in Trance we Trust... |

Who the hell wants to hear anthems? Go to Ibiza if u want to hear anthems. If thats the case Tiesto should just put on 1 of his live sets from 99. |

WARNING: If you cannot identify or if you do not know the tracks of a set from the likes of Warren, Cox, Seaman, Kleinenberg, Diggers, Sasha and others that represent the different genres of electronic music doesnt weaken the experience and actually enhances it. Actually a lot of people who are fans of these dj's can trainspot and identify tracks in these sets and have a great time and love it. They have the added benefit of hearing new, amazing tracks. This is the combo that is the ultimate---but it has to be a combo.
I STILL HAVENT HEARD ARGUMENTS AGAINST THE THRILL OF HEARING A NEW TRACK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A CLUB THAT LEAVES YOU UTTERLY SPEECHLESS AND MESMERIZED. EVERYONE HERE KNOWS AND LOVES THAT FEELING AND IF NOT THEY ARE MISSING OUT. TIESTO DOES NOT ALLOW THIS WHICH IS SAD. |

Funny...
Maybe some of us wanna hear anthems, and we don't have enough time (read: $$$) to go down to Ibiza... and since DJs like Tiesto, Corsten, Armin, etc. are coming over they could as well provide us with freakin sets full of anthems (cuz some of us are hungry for those, all because local DJs experiment a lot with new songs and don't play the good stuff that often)... and I don't think songs like Flight 643, Urban Train and many other great ones could be found on that live set from 99 :) |

That's bull. I've seen Tiesto spin 4 times, and although he hasn't impressed me always, he always manages to play brand new tracks that make me flip out! He doesn't do it very often anymore, but that's just because we're sooo into trance, we know every new track as soon as it's on promo! But it varies from person to person. A great example I have, is earlier this year, Tiesto played Fire & Ice - Souvenir De Chine, and this was months before promos were released and other big djs had their hands on it, back in the beginning of March! Those of you who think that Tiesto is now like Oakie, that's fine, to each his own, but although I don't deny him steering in that direction, I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as you guys make him out to be, and will remain my favourite dj until it does happen, if it does happen. But have you people forgotten what partying is all about? Don't be so critical on everything the dj is doing or not doing cause you could be missing out on an otherwise GOOD party! From the looks of it, the set looks pretty good! They're tracks we know and love, and can enjoy if only we put ourselves in that state of mind, because we're there with our friends and/or family, people we know n love, and in a room full of likeminded people who love to dance and wanna have a good time as well! Part of the reason people like djs like Tiesto, is because they have so much fun at their parties! The vibe and all helps make a party as well, and if you're so damn critical of the dj spinning to have a good time, then you're just spreading a negative vibe, you know? :( |

Twilogoddess...
You're deliberately depriving yourself of enjoyment and pleasure, because you're narrowing down your opinions and expectations in a very unreasonable, stupid, and I would even say obessive-compulsive way.
I for one want to hear anthems... so do many others, including on this site. Remember that something like 85% of us are epic/uplifting lovers. (There was a poll.)
But even if you're not one of us, you analyze things too much. I think you might have these qualities in real life too. My advice is: don't be so rigid and relax :) |

the only BAD thing about the whole night was the fact I paid $40 when seriously it should have been HALF that!

I am pretty obessive compulsive about it. Track selection is CRUCIAL!
Thats why I go out...its a concert for me. Other ppl have other agendas... I wanna hear new music that hasn't been released. I want to be wowed and impressed. Is that soo wrong? I love epic/uplifting although I prefer HARD trance. :D I like hearing anthems but 2 hours of them?! c'mon. Yeah I am obessive compulsive bout tunes...I have a craving, a yearning for new tunes. I had a great time at Tiesto, I danced my ass off but I would have like to have heard fresh cutting edge choons. I trainspotted Tiesto's entire set what does that say? |
