true indeed mt newcy friend, but a break in the clouds has been an incredibly popular choice, and wont make it to the finals so im told (due to it being a 2003 tune). and i thought that any edm (within reason) was allowed.
sorry, im pissed ..........MEH!!
time to got to bed :S

heat 2's gona be re-done, with a break in the clouds replaced with tune 41 from the most nominated list that was made before. im gona close it now and when i speak to ian to see what 41 is we'll re-open it.
sorry for the inconvience. |

Whilst I apprecaite the time put into the organisation of the poll...it's a let down on the last few years where the simple system of putting on the polls the tracks that got the most nominations was implemented. Tracks such as Lo-Step - Burma (as someone mentioned is this thread) and Brian Eno - An Ending Ascent got loads of nominations (esp An Ending..) yet aren't in the polls, which I really can't understand since there aren't even any other tracks by these producers in the poll, so any arguement about about including a broad spectrum of edm doesn't hold in these cases.
meh.... |

I dont agree with all the tunes selected for the heats, but if you want to go through tthe nominations thread, compile your own heats, and have your own voting, you have the oppurtunity to do so, via the poll section. However, people dont always frequent it, so it may not be representitive of the site as a whole.
Kudos to Ian for putting this all together. If he (indeed) used the top 40 nominations, then all of our complaining is for naught. Additionally, he has no control over what was most nominated, so we're all stuck with what our fellow TA's have chose for our 40 most nominated song this year...
No Leama and Moor really makes me sad for TA though :( |

We should of had a March Madness type of voting structure. Beging with 64 songs in 32 polls, which would narrow down to 32 songs, 16 songs, 8 songs, 4 songs, 2 songs, and to the eventual 2004 winner.
But it doesn't really matter, because adding other songs to the current polls or structing the polls in a different manner will not do anything to change the eventual outcome in the search for the "ONE" tune that will win 2004's TOTY.
I'm not saying what song that will be, but we all have a pretty good idea. |

i wish all the people who are complaining would think how else it can be done?
how else can u democratically decide the 40 most popular tunes without selecting the 40 that gets the most nominations?
its ing crazy how people moan that x,y and z arnt in the polls, the polls are made up on the general taste of everyone mashed together, if a certain tune doesnt get in that doesnt mean the whole thing is useless.
some of the people im speaking to who are moaning that x,y, and z didnt get in, didnt even nominate any tunes, so ... |

yes that is a good system, it's a shame it wasn't used for this poll though.
i don't pride myself on my maths ability, but I think i can work out that surrender, an ending etc got more votes than hertz - recreate and joris voorn - incident, 2 tracks voted for by one of the poll organisers, well fancy that! |
