Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it go on sale in Japan on December 12th (Which it already is there)?

Stupid people paying too much. Sheesh.

Yeah, definitely looks very cool, but if Sony has taught us anything over the years, it's that you SHOULD NOT BUY FIRST-GENERATION PRODUCTS! They have a tendency to break-down, need a recall, have fundamental flaws, etc... the technology usually gets much cheaper as well, so I'll wait until they slash the price and/or get the formula right after testing on the hapless American Public. :D

The PSP looks incredible, and will be incredible, though take Halycon's word, the initial shipment will probably be faulty and such.

Heh. Here's hoping.

I don't have high hopes for it, though.

Though it is especially cool that Sony is releasing it for MUCH cheaper than everyone expected. :)

$175 USD?

Somewhere around there.

Sony is losing a lot of money if it doesn't sell a lot of units.
Tudo Beleza
I am in Japan and it is like 180 dollars, damn i could sell them on ebay and make a killing.

Industry analysts predicted it would go up for at least 300 dollars US. Instead, they are releasing it for much cheaper. If you buy JUST the standard PSP with a battery, it will only cost 150. On the other hand, the "Value Pack" is available, where for only 180, you get the PSP, a battery, an A/C adaptor, a carrying case, and I think a few other things.

Like I said, much cheaper than originally expected.

And if you read around, you'll find out that the PSP has sold out everywhere, and the system JUST launched.

Not sure of the exact size. Here's the comparison to the DS, though:
