Thats a real shame.
I mean think about it.
The kid isnt like a total vegetable.
But by the looks of that article, they cant see/hear/talk.
So learning would abviously be very difficult.
But she very well may have a perfectly functioning brain.
Imagine that, having a fully functional brain, but not being able to hear/talk/see.
It would be like living in a sound proof box your whole life. The only thing you really get to experience is your own thoughts.
I guess she can feel, so its possible that she could learn to communicate/learn with brail, but how do you teach someone who cant see/hear/talk to read and write brail?

| I don't think it's necessarily a shame. It would be a shame if they aborted the child.. But she will experience life on a completely different level than us.. Think of what would go on inside her brain without having to use most of its energy on processing sensory information. I'm sure we could find a way to communicate with her through touch. |
