It's time to ask what is your favorite?

Best Southeast Region Party of 2004
Sander Kleinenberg @ The Mark, Atlanta, GA -- What a perfect night. The lasers were awesome, CO2 tanks cooling me down, air horn deafening me, great friends dancing around me. Props to Madhatter for throwing the best party of 2004.

Best Southeast Region Club of 2004
The Mark, Atlanta GA -- From the first time I step foot in the Mark, I was in love. It may not be the biggest club, but it makes up for that in countless other ways. The vibe from the people are great. More underground, less posers. It can be crowded but yet it was still comfortable, unlike Space.

Top 3 Album of 2004
Sander Kleinenberg - This is Everybody Too
Sasha - Involver
James Holden - Balance 005

Top 3 Track of 2004
Above & Beyond - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Blue Haze - Into Nothing (Hamel's Last Time For 9 Mix)
Petter vs Unkle - These Days vs What Are You To Me? (Sasha's Involver Mashup Mix)

Best Breakthough Artist
Matthew Dekay - Trancey tribal progressive house = troucey. And I love it. His productions are top notch. His recent sets on Essential Mix and ASOT XXL are banging. I hope to see him live someday.

One Person Who Changed the Way I Appreciate EDM
Sasha - He has taught me that DJing is about being creative and conveying your thoughts to mix the moods of your audience. It's about letting go of archaic tools (turntables) and embracing new technologies (Ableton Live 4) to support creativity and originality. He has not pigeon-holed himself in a single genre like many others. He is progressive-minded, always striving for improvement and not afraid to change. Cheers Sasha.

One Artist Who Has Let me Down in 2004
Paul van Dyk - I wish I didn't have to pick him but that's the truth. He has been sub-par this past year. Consistently playing the same tracks month after month. No flow and all anthems. I miss the old days when I barely knew what tracks he played. He tried harder and sounded better.

Best Party-- Magik Musik/Everybody loves the great outdoors...Tiesto and Sander K @ space 3-08-04...the most insane club night i think there ever was... tiesto for 6.5 hours(when he was playing good), and then sander till 1 afternoon--11 hours!!!

album- definitely Sander everybody too, James Holden-Balance,Markus Shulz- coldharbour

club-- lets see I pick Space considering I been there like 20 times in the past year...although nerve during conference threw some sick parties and that place was awesome...i hope they get that back up for wmc05...phazon in a little place bangs...

tracks- no one on earth- G&D mix, white room- the white room, blue haze-into nothing, deepsky-talk like a stranger

appreciate edm... Sander K, james holden, and james zabiela...holden for his perfect proggressive nature and zabiela for...if i have to tell you why for him just go see him dj....unlike anything else he is taking it all to the next level...Sander for his work with pioneer on the dvj's definitely pushing the envelope with those things, they are awesome, and also the music that he finds and plays just gets me in a frenzy all 7 TIMES i saw him this year, i hope i can beat this next year ....

let me down... i must also say PvD and Tiesto (except for in march, but the shows since them that i have seen and others that many have told me about recently):D not that i think there is anything bad about them but the last times i saw either of them i wasn't impresssed oh and it sux to be a sardine also when they come to town...

Best Southeast Region Party of 2004
Sander Kleinenberg @ The Mark, Atlanta, GA -- this is THE party that stands out above everything else - the added sound, lighting, lasers, and siren got things set up, an awesome group of people came out to party, and then one of the best djs in the world took this all into his hands, and molded a night that, for anyone who was in attendence, will never be forgotten! this set was so banging, with so much energy, that nobody could have predicted it, or can ever hope to reproduce it :eyes:

Best Southeast Region Club of 2004
The Mark, Atlanta GA -- this is the newly up-and-coming HOT spot in atlanta. it's very small and intimate, but has an underground feeling like feel other clubs in this country still posess... composed of low ceilings, a small dance floor, very nice sound system (albeit very loud some nights hehe), private bathrooms, and 2 VERY chillin lounges/bars, this is somewhere you can always go with your friends, hear some GREAT music, and really just enjoy yourself. bartenders that are completely unforgiving as far as pouring strong drinks, and lack of annoying security guards/bouncers push this club up over the edge - anyone who has experienced it knows that this place knows that the Mark may well be a legend one day!

Top 3 Album of 2004
Sander Kleinenberg - This is Everybody Too
James Holden - Balance 005

Top 3 Track of 2004
Blue Haze - Into Nothing (Hamel's Last Time For 9 Mix)
Superchumbo - DirtyFilthy
Shiny Grey - Why (Wally Lopez Vocal Mix)

One Person Who Changed the Way I Appreciate EDM
Sander Kleinenberg - this is one of the few people all year who has continued to amaze me - from livesets around the world, one of the best CDs of the year, a mind blowing performance here in atlanta, and some amazing remixes, this guy has got it all!! it has exposed me to an all new side of electronica (progessive house, which I used to really hate), and made me start branching out and discovering a LOT of new stuff :D

One Artist Who Has Let me Down in 2004
Tiesto - you can read my post about him in the "worst sets/djs" ever thread, but I'm sorry, I think he's "over the hill" now
I hafta say PvD has been very dissapointing too... nothing new or spectacular, just the same ole same ole... i have a feeling he can still come out of this slump though!!

Best Southeast Region Party of 2004

Junkie XL - 10/31/04 @ Eleven 50, Atlanta - I wouldnt say it was the best performance of the year DJ wise but I think it was the most amount of fun had by all that I have experienced. Everyones costumes made the night good fun and the after party madness at Scotts is an experience I won't forget.

Best Southeast Region Club of 2004

The Mark, Atlanta GA - More intimate and can create more atmosphere than Eleven 50 but the bathroom staff are wankers. However, teh Djs perfroming there have been amazing and I usually come out of there sweaty as hell.

Top 3 Albums of 2004

Faithless - No Roots
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
James Zabiela

Top 3 Tracks of 2004

Ficta - Eli
Ozgur Can - Reclaim
Departure - She Turns (Markus Schulz remix)

Best Breakthough Artist

Ozgur Can - It's official !- I am an Ozgur whore - Few Djing performances but his productions have been on the whole first class. Reclaim has brought a smile to my face (and very few others:( ) - His sound can get a bit similar after a while and I hope you puts a sweet twist on it next year.

Armin van Buuren @ Eleven50, Atlanta 4/1/04......pre-dinner @ Vickery's, hearing No one on Earth (G&D Mix) live the first time, getting a free vinyl from Armin and a couple of autographs from the man himself. I can't ask for more :D

Best Southeast Region Club of 2004

The Mark @ Atlanta, I think the ATLTAs have made some good points about this club already. The vibe and the intimacy of the club saids it all

Top 2 Album of 2004
Gabriel and Dresden- Bloom
Sasha- Involver

Top 3 Track of 2004
Perry O'Neil- Wave Force
Above and Beyond- No One on Earth (Gabriel and Dresden Remix)
Ridgewalkers feat El- Find (Original/Andy Moor Remix)

Best Breakthough Artist
Perry O'Neil, I just love this guy's style. His productions never disappoint. With a brand new radio show, this guy will shine even more in 2005.
*Another breakthrough artist worth mentioning: Ozgur Can *

One Person Who Changed the Way I Appreciate EDM
Not just one person, everyone in the scene. The DJs, producers, and the party goers. Especially the ATLTAs ;)

One Artist Who Has Let me Down in 2004
PvD.....yep, same tracks throughout the set and way too hard for my taste. I'm thinking about skipping out on PvD next month when he's here
