Parking at York University

Alright here's the deal. There's this thing at york that I have to do that finishes at 10:30 pm every weekday day. Is there any way I can avoid the anal rape they call "moderate parking fees" in my situation?

| most weekdays that I know of, the parking lot for Ice Gardens is always open/free in the afternoon. It's the only way I'm able to park for free to visit my girlfriend in the dorms. Go park there. The entrance is nearest to the Black Creek Pioneer village entrance off Steeles. don't go through the long yellow gates tho, cuz those get closed off at some point the next morning.... and every1 inside without a yorku pass gets ticketted. |

Ok, from my experience, parking illegally at york for 3 years, here is what i have to offer.
they don't ticket very often, i know of people that park during the day and have almost never gotten a ticket. but they do ticket.
its also rare that they ticket past 9pm.
One, since york is private property, they can give you a ticket, but em.... but there is the whole discussion about the credit rating, blah blah.
another good way to screw york is if you have some old plates, just put those one and park where ever you want too. if i had some old plates, id do it.
if you don't go to york, then you can park any bloody where you want, as long as you don't park somewhere like, a fire route. if you do, then they might, might tow you. but otherwise its a free-for-all. if you do go to york, then they can withhold your diploma.
If you want to avoid getting a ticket, you can park across the street from steels in the commercial lots, they can give you a ticket there but you also don't have to pay it, it is illegal for them to ticket. these lots are west of steels and keele on the north side. if you go a little further past these commercial lots, there is this little driveway thing, just north of the second entrance on steels, that people use a lot and ive never seen anyone get a ticket there, but i think that it might be public property so you can get a ticket from the city.
also there are some spots way on the edge of yorks property. off steels, just east of the first entrance on the south side there is a construction entrance to some empty field, you can park outside the fence. i see ppl do it all the time and no tickets. but id be a little weary of that spot just because if there were any contruction or somethign going on, then who knows what they'd do to your car if you blocked them.
ok, thats not it, but there are tons of places to park at york and for free at that. im the typa person that usually risks it and parks as close to where i need to be. ive only ever got one ticket. my brother on the other hand has gotten server hundred in tickets..
oh ya. i can't forget this.. if you park in a lot that was already ticketed, just grab a ticket from some car's windshield and use stick it on yours, thats a pretty safe thing to do. you won't get two. i haven't heard of it happenening. |

method a) follow a person through the gates (do the same on exit)
method b) use an unactivated cred. card to pay at the automated parking machines
method c) if you see a ticket, throw it on ur car, if uve already got a ticket put that on your car
method d) if you see a york parking , beat the crap out of him because theyre bastards
method e) avoid all the hassles and pay for parking...but who the wants to do that |
