Hey there,
I was just wondering how everybody gets their music. It's been so long since I used soulseek.... and when I'm trying to search for a particular song, I either get no results or there are 500+ people in queue!
I hear everybody talking about this ridgewalkers track... but I can't seem to get it, even after 2 days of trying on soulseek. I'm assuming this because you have to be added to somebody's userlist, otherwise your options are really limited.
I'm trying to ID a song from Tiesto's set... so I figured I'd download all the tracks that people have ID'd so far... except that only a handful actually show any results.
How do you get onto somebodys userlist? Would anybody be so kind as to add me to theirs..?? or maybe there's another way that I'm missing..
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

ah...another soulseek question.
do you use a router for your internet? most problems with soulseek are solved by configuring your router properly. |

Music to my ing ears! Ive been going crazy over this song since i first heard it like a month and a half ago i think.... it just n OWNS me so hard...
u go to n heaven when her vocals come on... its so beautiful.....
when i heard Tiesto drop it at the DOcks at 2:15am i was walking around the docks with my cousin (retortion) and i said "Man, stop! im not moving till this song is over" and just n absorbed the song like a sponge... it just flowed thru me... man, that was like the height of the night for me... my rush was n intense at that point too....
i really was in heaven!!! |

wow, no mp3 bashing comments yet...i'm surprised.
i love the convenience of getting music right away. but this is my idea that i've proposed forever:
make a pay program such as napster dedicated to "ONLY EDM" music with the newest releases are always made available (i don't understand why an online record store hasn't thought of this idea to boost there revenue, since they already make the samples available anyways. and charge like $1.50-200 per song...that they we get our music cheap (but not stolen) the artists make money, and the record store can take a small profit (ie. 25cents per song) to keep the opporation running. its a flawless idea...someone make it happen :whip: |

heres a heads up...for every 5 dollars u donate to soulseek via paypal, u get 35 days of whats called privilege status
so i tried it out last month....paid 5 bucks, and even tho i saw 100+ in queue, cos of my privelege status, i was in line at #1 or 2 or around the single digits.

file sharing = bad. In EDM - you're ripping off dudes that only make $2k / record to begin with.
if you can buy a track for less than $2 - why steal it?
if it's money - go work at mc-d's to pay for your tunes. |

Hmmm ...
I am looking for some info on this SOULSEEK program, like rules/speeds/ease of use, etc. I am currently not involved/connected to any regular music sharing/downloading program, and I am missing out on the latest choons. Please fill me in, I wanna join and check if my upload speeds are good enough for this program - my computer seems to HATE sharing via Kazaa/Kazaa Lite - upload speeds go down to a halt :eek:
I just got an 80 GIG drive ... barely had enough money put off for that. Last month started to organize my music collection of audio CDs (that I BOUGHT), livesets, tracks - and make it all into an easy browsing catalogue of my stuff ...
I got mostly electronic dance music, everything from disco, retro to house, trance, techno, goa/psy, etc. etc. I got a "5 digit number" of songs, and around 1100 livesets ...
