16's old enough in my book to know that torturing and killing another person is wrong. I hope those two bastards are tried and convicted as adults. The young offenders act shouldn't protect what is clearly an act of calculated evil.

895 Signatures currently...this petition needs more.

N RIGHT. there is no way in heaven or hell that these bastards should be able to get leniency bc of their age. COMPLETE CRAP if it happens!

I read a few other details too...very disturbing that people can have do such things to another human being...especially for nothing more than an apparent "dis" amongst aquaintances?

shocking.

being an american the only thing that canada is missing is the death penalty...you need to learn a lesson and others as well...seems to me like here in canada crimes of such nature are uncommon and the sentences handed out are minimal...for instance, dealing crack in mass, u could get up to 20 years for trafficking? if people are desperate to committ a crime they should face the consequences...being 16 is no excuse...they'll probably get a formal education through the judicary system here...this place makes no sense to me

the death penalty...oh boy...there's a can of worms. It doesn't serve any useful purpose, IMHO...but continue the death penalty discussion here:

back on topic...the petition...sign it people! a conviction in juvenille court would be a disservice to the incredible suffering endured by this boy and to the lifetime of grief his family will continue to suffer.

I'm shocked. Those 3 persons should be put in jail forever. What could ever drive people to do such a thing to someone who they had befriended.

Teens in hospital after Brampton ambush

CURTIS RUSH
STAFF REPORTER THESTAR.COM

Three teens are in hospital following a swarming in Brampton where the victims were beaten and stabbed by a group of 15 people.

Acting Detective Steve Rowe characterized the attack as a well-planned ambush "by cowardly thugs" who utilized camouflage and stealth to corner the victims.

"They were out to ambush them," Rowe said. "We don't know if it's gang related."

Two of the victims were stabbed several times, while a third victim was beaten into unconsciousness. A fourth victim managed to escape. All three injured men are expected to recover.

The suspects were dressed in dark hats and dark clothing with scarves covering their faces, police said. The unarmed victims knew their assailants, police said.

"It escalated out of control," Const. Dameon Okposio of Peel Regional police said this morning.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. yesterday when four teens were walking on Juniper Cres.which is in the Bramalea Rd. and Williams Parkway E. area. They were attacked with blunt objects and knives.

Okposio said four suspects have been arrested and will appear in Brampton court today.

The four, who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and possession of dangerous weapons.

"The investigation is still very early," Rowe said, adding that police expect to make more arrests.
