so anyone that uses their own identity and/or success to make money is a money whore??????? so you're allowed to succeed in life but only to a certain point????

exactly how much is tiesto allowed to make before he crosses the money whore line?? isn't "money whore" what we all dream of becoming ourselves......

i'll tell ya, you'll never catch me telling someone to stop making me more money......

Tiesto is the britney spears of electronic music. Those who hold on to the fantasy that he is somehow underground or cutting edge are truely dellusional. Accept it, Britney spears has her own perfume, J-Lo has her own clothing line, and Tiesto has inflatable DJ lifejackets.

no one said he was underground or cutting edge.....i haven't heard anyone say that about him in years......

i guess if you're a dj you have to keep the underground mentallity and pretend it's cool not to be popular or successful

Electronic music fans seem to have a wierd idea that nightclubs are non-profit charity organizations dedicated to ensuring people can have a good time at a low low price. They also have this wierd idea that every DJ out there is "underground" and therefore should be making next to nothing so that they can have a good time at a low low price.

If you ask me, electronic music fans (here at least) are just cheap

well i think allot of edm fans are having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that the "scene" is becoming more popular and mainstream...they want to keep it as their little secret but that'snot the case anymore......

i think that's why people freak out when someone like tiesto starts marketing his name......that's just the way things are in the world of big bux......

if i was ranked number one in the world i'd try to get as much out of it as i could also....strike while the iron is hot...who knows how long this popularity will last....athletes,actors,bands do the same thing.....

If Tiesto can sell those things, and if they are actually helpful - why not? I just don't see anything wrong with this.

BTW - those of you who think Tiesto is a money whore.. Think about this: 1) Many promoters earned their reputation and money just by booking Tiesto.
2) Hundreds of thousands of people are enjoying Tiesto's music all over the world.

If you don't think that above 2 reasons are sufficient for Tiesto to be very very rich.. then... I think you are just dumb and/or jealous :p

have you SEEN his fingers?
He'd do well on the cover of an underwear box at the bay, oh yes he would.

Let's get one thing straight- I never called Tiesto a 'money whore'. I just can't believe a DJ is getting such product marketability. Sure DJ's may be sponsored by products they use (Chris Liebing uses Final Scratch & gives demos about it), but you don't see the 'Limited Edition Final Scratch w/CL Recordings logo' on the shelf, do u? I can see why it's financially viable for Tiesto to do this, but I think in the long run in could backfire on him.

Look at how some of the brits treat some of their Radio 1 dj's- people showing up at Judge Jules gigs wearing "Jules Sucks" shirts. I fear it's only a matter of time.

thank you! my point exactly... Armin wouldn't be a bad choice either, I haven't really paid attention to his fingers yet
;)

electronic music has been mainstream almost everywhere BUT here for well over a decade now. I dont know why everyone still has this idea that somehow it's "underground".

Tell me it's underground in 1989 or 1992 and i would have believed you
