i have these jeans that are waaaaay to flare @ the bottom. i need to get them reduced to bootcut. have any of you had this type of alteration done on jeans before? if so were you satisfied with the work they did? is it noticeable?
im really hesitant in going to any ol place. im worried that they will mess my jeans up some how.
any recommendations?!
thanks |

im affraid to just walk into any ol cry cleaners! i have to be certain. if it was a simple hem then yes i would just go to any but i have a friend who did that because he was cheap and his jeans were basically screwed.
i dont want this to happen. i paid way too much $$$ on them.
i guess ill just wait & see if anyone else may have suggestions. ive been told holt renfrew & im leaning towards this right now... |

There are some boutiques around toronto that actually create clothes for certain people. And old friend of mine actually had the majority of his clothes made for him. Try to find one of those, Im sure they wont wreck your jeans. |

You could even try The Bay downtown,
I know they do alterations on dress pants and stuff, not sure about jeans...
if anything they could even recommend someone... would feel more credible that way.... |

Ok, hold the laughing...
I ain't that tall... So with all these "long" shorts that are in style now - they go down to my ankles somtimes.
I took some shorts to the Bay "Altered Image" in the basement and they shortened my shorts... They did a damn good job too.
Ok, laugh away. ;)
Note: they have also shortened my jeans, dress pants, dresses and skirts. All "quality is job 1" work. |

ya but thats "shortening". im talking altering the cut of the jeans. if i was going to get them hemmed then ya id go anywhere but this is a lil different... :(
i dont want to get my jeans back and it looks like the way Theo from the cosby show got his knock-off gordon gartrail shirt from denise...HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! |

"shortening" = "skinny-ing".... One is with length, the other is with width. |

if they can change the cut of a dress, im betting they can take in the triangle of material to change flare to a boot. |

i think the most important question is why did you buy them in the first place if they were flare? spending money to spend more money is not so smart.
second thing is, if you bring it to a shop make sure they don't take the triagle out only on one side of the leg but both sides. the cut of the jeans will be ruined if they only take out one side.
you may want to call jean stores and ask them if they recommend jean alteration places. because the seam of the jeans is the most important part you don't want them ing that up half way down the pants. |
