Yesterday I watched the Manchurian Candidate. Which, sort of like Wag the Dog, is the hollywood movie for presidential conspiracies.
Now for anyone who hasn't seen the movie and actually wants to (I don't highly recommend it, but it does pass the time) ---SPOILER ALERT---:
The basic plot of the movie is that a corporation (called Manchurian, i.e. think Halliburton) goes to create lengths through a host of BS scenarios just to have the possibility of a candidate that will hold the office of president. Now I always take the wrong message out of the movie, instead of beleiving that corporations are indeed very capable of influencing and controling government, as I feel the directors/writers wanted you to feel coming out of the movie, I got the other feeling.
With in the plot of the movie, so many 'little' things could have gone differently, not to mention how many people had to be invovled, and how complicated a feat (even with super-human technology) it is to actually pull such a grand conspiracy like that.
Anyway, the point is conspiracies are simply too damn hard to pull off in real life. They never go the way you want, ever (go try and conspiracy to achieve a certain specific goal yourself, and you'll see how by the end it morphs or achieves a different goal).
Was Oil important in this war? Sure was.
Was it the strategic goal of the war? Nope. US enough secure sources of oil.
Had Iraq had no oil it would never have become a threat. Iraq without oil, would have made for an easier invasion, alla Afghanistan. |

| The war in no way could be for OIL because first you have to understand why the OIL prices have gone up and no it's not because of Iraq or Osama, buddy. Second of all, the Iraqis got their freedom except certain fundamantalists still trying to rebel from the "Western Rule" so we should've let Sadam stay there and kill his own sand nigg&rs and sit back and enjoy the show with Sarin and other gasses like he did the Kurds. |

No need to try to fit in with the name calling.
If you need to prove a point use the eloquence of your vocabulary. Words hurt. Use them wisely. |

The invasion was for the oil and of course because they couldn't stand the leader saddam and the ppl who were very anti zionist.
The main concern of the USa is that Iraq would attack Israel.:D
So they used lies to begin 'Operation Iraqie freedom'. You must have a mental disability to believe this.(americanes)lol;) |
Yep, it is Zionism.
Even though he killed his own people (Kurds, Marsh Beduoins, etc.
Even though he kicked out weapons inspectors.
Even though he violated the First Iraqi War Treaty.
Even though UN Resolution 1441 supported this, not just the USA
Even though over 100,000 dead have been found
Even though he bribed many European officals in the Oil For Food Program
He was just a misunderstood nice guy. |
