My favorites of this style are the G&D tunes from 2003, Particularly the one on my CD player at the moment, I think its Gabriel - Wave 3, which might be earlier than 2003. But right in that time before their essential mix last year, they had some killer sounds in circulation.

It kinda has the same vibe that the infamous McProg gives off but its synths are a little different and it messes with my head better than the markus playlist, although I'm sure if they were new markus would still be pounding the hell out of that selection.

Tbh he does play a lot of progressive trance, with a smattering of trance, progressive house and breaks.

Dumb. Ass.

Do you? All progressive means is the bassline changes key every 4 bars, to give the feel of progression in the track. The rest of the track is built to accentuate that feel.

I've given up on Schulz. Every time I listen to one of his GDJB sets, I go "boooring". I skip ahead 20 minutes into the set, and it seems like the same track is playing.

What kind of music do you like then, just want to know where your comming from?

I feel the same way about Digweed's sets. Although a few times I have listened closely only to find it was still the same song playing after 20 minutes.

He likes the incredibly underground genre of electro, because it isn't overplayed. Or so he says.

No. :p

Check the top20 of 2004 thread for my list. Of course, it only includes tracks from this year, and all of them are pretty well known, as I haven't had time to dig into the not-so known stuff.

The reason I like underground stuff? Well, someone has to explore. Otherwise we'll be stuck listening to Probspot this time next year. But I only like the underground stuff if it's good. I don't go pulling a J00F, and playing crap psytrance tracks just because they're unknown.

I find it very interesting that people don't think markus plays a lot of progressive trance. It sounds to me very much like the kind of progressive trance i was listening to in 1997 and 1998 and don't see what the fuss is all about, maybe you guys only go into progressive in the last couple of years and got stuck into the housy deep progressive mentalitly or something?
