i was on NTL cable before which i found fine, but cable isn't laid here yet.
BT/Virgin/NTL ADSL all look reasonable.
any preferences? opinions?
£23 per month, capped at 6GB but that's almost 8 CD's of data per month. i think that will be enough.

depends on how much you download .. 6gb aint bad i guess if you just download some mp3s and do web browsing .. but as soon as you move onto say games or movies then its easy to go over that and then you'll end up paying for it ..
afaik ntl dont do adsl unless you've worded that wrongly? BT will have caps too .. id check out some other companies like pipex or nildram .. though i aint too uptodate with adsl companies .. try http://www.net4nowt.com .. |

chrz.
ntl do an adsl broadband offer, but it's 5GB capped.
had a quick rethink, i always had digitally imported radio on with ntl cable. i just worked out that comes to 43MB per hour :eyes:
looks like either wanadoo 1MB/£28 (30GB cap)
Virgin 512k/£25 unlimited
aol 512k/£25 1MB/£30 unlimited
hum. |

you seem pretty reluctant to look at other adsl companies .. any reason ? |

from my personal expirience with atleast 4+ ADSL connections at friends house, i cant stand the thing and would only use ADSL as a last resort, where if i didnt id be on 56k.
id do my upmost to get back onto cable (had ntl cable 4+ years and its gone down like 3 times) or something else, but i really would stay clear of ADSL personally. i find it ty, unstable and very tempremental.
imo. |

ntl plan to introduce download caps though .. even if they up the speed .. having 1 without the other is pointless and i can see lots of people moving away from ntl if that happens .. dont need 2mbit to check some emails and websites ..
true i cant fault ntl too much either .. but alot of postive comments have been made on adsl provided by nildram and pipex just as it has on say blueyonder .. and with LLU finally coming into effect soon i can see adsl becoming a much more appealing prospect when BT aint the driving force behind it .. |

| Phil get either pipex or tesco. both are pretty cheap and very reliable. and above all, both dont have limits on ur bandwidth. u may think u dont use that much but whats the point in going for a service that u might go over when for the same price or cheaper u dont have that limit |
