Fear? I have no fear. We're all gonna die , it's just a matter of when, but if you're perhaps unaware that it maight just knock on your door with out you knowing on the morning after christmas. As far as I'm concerened I'm living here where it hit , on the morning during the quake which never hit's bangkok, I was running for cover as the tremors made us run for cover as glass was falling fron the buildings. My friends were setting up camp for the under privillaged, taking them down to a island when they got warning.
The grandson of the King here did die after giving his life jacket to someone else:eyes: then being smash up against the hotel where he was residing, my school mates are professional divers taking out the tours.

Now I don't give a what you care about or 'inconcern for someone who dies 10,000 miles away" - and why should you? but I DO:cool:

Geez.. all i know about this forum is that there's clearly some mother******s who ain't giving a damn about what happening until something has happened to him/her. These are the ppl who think they're too well-off and would diss at almost everything. Call these son-of-a-nut-crackers selfish, and certainly arrogant.

I do not lose anyone whom i know due to this major catastrophe but i still feel the sorrows and cries of those who have suffered.

varun, u should just ignore these s and acknowledge those who paid sincere tribute. :)

Definitely giving 2 mins of my time. ~Condolences to those who've suffered~ :sadgreen:

Why? Because it could happen to you? Because it DID happen to you and you lived through it?

I see a lot of people who seem to feel guilty for living while others have died, and it just doesn't seem right. You said it yourself: "I'm living here". Right now, you are alive. Don't dwell on the dead.

As stated here before, thosands die each day - there is no way around that, and our lives would be a complete waste if they were spent remembering every single person who passes on. However, the vain attempts to put up a front of "honor" are wasted on such inevitable concepts - you do what you must do in your life time, and worry about death later. Or are we actually too afraid of such a concept to leave this unchangeable fate behind? I know that I could die 5 minutes from now - I know that I could die 50 years from now - this will not change the recourse of my life's progress though because I have chosen for it to be inconsequential to me. Realization of one's own mortality is a certain freedom that people only see when they are in the face of their own disaster - not one thousands of miles away from them. You can force whatever you like upon people, and their responses may be the same throughout, but you cannot make people fear something that has nothing to do with them - it's useless and vain. So as I said - you can have your 2 minutes of worthless silence in honor of the dead, as though it would have some profound impact on anyone but yourself, or you can live your life out of fear.

As with anything, it's your own choice - but realize whom the two minutes are really for.

A Greek who was there and returned home said:There are still people at the collapsed hotel that I was staying and no help is there to rescue them...Please some1 to go there. There are lives down there...

:(So Horrible to be down there without food water and air to breathe...

Ha ha perhaps you didn't read the whole message clearly, I have no idea where you get that I'm living in fear, for the last time god get it through the head NO I do not dwell on the dead, currently we are raising funds for the injured and those who are stil alive and those who are stranded the work is kind of fun. Friends and I have contacted large organisations from abroad to help out and the response has been over whelming, I'm not trying to make anmyone think like me or do so, i have no GUILT for what I do. Dude that word is not in my didctionary as I do everything out of truth so there's nothing to hide.
Would you like to help out ?? ha ha ha... I bet I could guess your reply.

you're a tool.

about 44,000 people and counting died in all of 10 minutes or less in this formidable disaster..

You seem to think that I am addressing you specifically, and you also have tones that would lead me to believe you want this to turn into an argument. In all actuality, I am questioning the "efforts" of fearful people who have only to realize that the only reason they would display any sort of concern is because of what the massive deaths of others might implicate towards their own selfish existence. If you feel you have absolved yourself of fear, then I'm obviously not talking to you, now am I?

this is a time of mourning, not politics.
i just got back from a vacation and i always wonder what goes on in the world while i'm disconnected from it. i always fear something happening to my home, my friends or my country. when i hear the news of tragedy in some other country, it still hurts, especially knowing that i was having a swell time at parties and family reunions

We give our 2 mins because we care bout the world and wut goes on in it.If im there now i would def help out and do wutever i can to save people. Regarding the facts on death on other side of the earth i do feel bad for them also, but im just not informed or heard about it yet. For those who doesnt care or dont give a bout this serious tragedy then dont post msg cause nothing good is coming outta ur mouth and im 100% sure if ur family or friends are there you be sad too.

I know my two minutes were for the dead and the
greiving/homeless/suffering people. Some people also donate money for those people. If you're not going to give up your two minutes because you think it's something about fear, sweet as, but i think it's selfish.
