Anyone had an ear infection before?

It turns out my wife looks to have one.
Vertigo, nausea, purging, has it all :sadgreen:
She's basically immobilized on the couch right now, sleeping...
I was so scared I didn't know what else to do, she was throwing up for what seemed like an hour straight...
I had to phone 911 and had EMS (Emergency Medical Services) come to the apartment...
They took her blood sugar, blood pressure and temperature; all normal.
They asked a few questions and from what she (my wife) was describing to all seems to point to an inner ear infection.
The EMS crew (one guy, one girl; God bless em!) were very friendly and I thanked them profusely for their time.
They offered a ride to emergency services but they are apparently pretty backed up (like 3-5hrs!) or I could call MedVisit to arrange to have a doctor make a house-call...
Can't really move the wife cause any movement and she vomits so MedVisit wins.
I phoned; they're booked all day today :(
Have to try and book again tomorrow at 8am according to them...
Now for the wonders of colloidal silver? (it's a natural antibiotic...)
Crosses fingers...

I hate feeling this helpless...
Anyone else had dealings with ear infections?
:sadgreen:

OMG..........I know how it feels. I've been through it. Let her sleep and don't move her for anything. Has she got the fevers yet? That's when, you just gotta take her to hospital. She'll describe it as if it's up and down fever. Neways.....I had to be taken so I took a huge steel pot and sat in back seat, with the window down. I threw up after every little bump...but once I got to hospital they made it better.

Neways...I hope she feels better.

Hard to believe eh?
Don't know if I'm preaching to the choir or not but in your ears have fluids that help keep you balanced (aka walking in a straight line).
When something like an infection screws with your fluid levels it throws your body off, giving you a sense of vertigo (dizziness), like the room is spinning and stuff. You don't have a sense of up or down.
This vertigo causes nausea because your brain can't cope with off-balanceness (did I just make that word up??) and hence a good chance of, you guessed it....chunder...
Goes to show how important your ears really are! :(

Good luck with your yoga Dal! :toothless

Cheers

I hope she feels better SOON! NYE is this weekend!:(
Expired
I hope the best to both of you, and that everything turns out alright.

Cheers,

avikonen
Please get your wife a perscription of antibiotics like zithromax or augmentin. I don't think the silver is going to cut it. I've had a ear infection before - not fun.

thats good advice, i've had an inner ear infection as well as an outer ear infection better known as "swimmers ear" yea it was from a not so quite clean pool =\. I can really relate to your wife's pain, it's almost as if you want to stab your ear to relieve the pressure. Hope she gets better soon!
