alrite, i'm at work today and some fool from New Brunswick calls in and tells us that it's not a stat holiday today in his province. as far as i know this is a stat holiday across the country as mandated by the federal government. is this guy smoking crack ?

| The statuatory holidays, I believe, are Christmas and Boxing Day. It's up to the company to decide how to distribute them. For me, I had yesterday off, as well as today, but not Friday. |

I had yesterday and today, and will be off next Monday as well due to new years. wohooo.. You guys get paid for stat holidays? |

Yes, we do get paid for stat holidays. Isn't it the law?
p.s. I also have next Monday off. As well as the previous Friday, Thursday, and Wednesday. ;) |

Ok..I have a related question. I have Mon and Tues off this week as well. Will I get paid for these 2 stat days this pay or next? I will be paid THIS thursday for the LAST two weeks. So, my pay period starts Dec. 13 - Sat. Dec. 25 and I get paid THIS Thurs. Dec.30 for those 2 weeks. :crazy: So my question is...do I just have mon and tues off because you have to have 2 days off for the stats but I will still be paid for them on this pay even though it's technically the start of a new pay period?? OMG I'm so confused!! Someone please help!! :eyespop:
P.S. I don't understand what I just wrote either...:( |

If I understand it correctly :D, My guess is that you will be paid for the first statutory holiday on the upcoming paycheque because it falls in that pay period (13th-25th). You should get the pay for the other day in the next period. It's regardless of which day you get off...
