Question for the religious nuts (pg. 3)

| There are a ton of "miracles" that could be proven like natural wonders or whatnot however there is no denying certain aspects of religion and religious history in context to "actual" history. Specially the Flood, The Gilgamesh or w/e you might like to call it. you dig :P? |

Well, people have their own interpretations of the Bible itself, some people who are Christians believe in the evolutionary theory, and some don't. The Bible has been passed down many generations, rewritten several times, between the translations it might have been translated incorrectly which differed from the initial purpose.
People shouldn't push people or threaten people from coventing into Christianity or out of it, and Christians shouldn't do the same to non-believer (even if it's not what it says in the Biblical text); simple as that :happy2:. If you read the Bible completely word by word and believe in it without rationalizing with it, you've become an complete idiot or a complete faith jumper. |

Ok, so dragons were actually stories about dinosaurs...
I still don't get how this has anything to do with my original question, which was how religion explains dinosaurs.
All I'm getting are nice facts about completely unrelated things.
Oh, and TVD's pre-flood theory... |

A religious Muslim once told me that the sole purpose of God putting dinosaurs on Earth was so that humans could have fuel to live and develop. An interesting and romantic notion but to the best of my knowledge dinosaurs are not mentioned either in the Bible or the Quran.
Funny enough, it is by a related principle that many religious people do not believe in extra-terrestrials. "They are not mentioned in the holy books so they do not exist." But dinosaurs were very real no doubt- another logical flaw perhaps?? |

Dinosaurs (then called dragons prior to the mid 1800's) are thought to have been lost in the Great Flood.
But they somehow are still around such as in Job 40:15-24:
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
The hebrew word behemoth is not used again. It is thought to be an elephant but with a tail like a cedar it isn't possible. The word beast is used to describe cattle and other similar animals, but not in this verse. |

I have yet to understand the interest between dinosaurs and religion. What good does it do to find or not find an explanation in any given religion about the species?
