ON to happier Note armin you are the best Dj in the world.. You set left me blown away and all i wanted was more.. you never ever let me down. I needed another 3 hours of you playing again.. I cant even say anything more.. Maybe just a little progy/even housy at the start but hey i loved it.. All my mates who are big house heads loved armin.. He is the ign man..

From all reports he rocked it. Good to hear - the housey proggy bit will get longer and longer as time goes by, mark my words.

^^^ i hope that's the case! :) Armin's prog house selection (though some may deem it McProg) was just the ticket for the Summadayze crowd. Even the trance he played was high on vocals and low on rippling synths & angelic voxes -- a sign of the times?

My personal highlights:
Ridgewalkers ft. El - Find (KvA Remix)
Enmass - CQ
Tiesto vs AvB - Yet Another Suburban Train
AvB - Communication Pt 3

Definitely not a set for the chinstrokers. This was Armin working a big room the way he knows best, and omg doesn't he just love it! :D

Had a bloody fabulous day, courtesy of Mr Strangis, Sean Quinn, De La Soul (who I really liked - and I generally can't stand that sorta music), Mark James (Melt - Be Liquid OMFG). Couldn't really get into Deluxe + Emerson... dunno why. The masses seemed to love them, tho :p

And the :wtf:WTF:wtf: award goes to Midro playing prog/house. Couldn't believe my ears when I returned to the main stage!

WHAT A DAY! Got there just in time to see that lovely little masquerade lady putting on a performance on the trancedayze stage during Steve's set LMFAO Stevie played an absolute ripper of a set, the crowd was loving it, he was loving it, definately one of his most memorable sets. Then went walkies, and ended up main stage to catch emmerson and deluxe, these guys were having a ball, their mixing wasnt the best, but i think it could be forgiven, because of how much fun they were having behind the decks, and how well they got the crowd going, Born Slippy mmmmmmmmmm .......And then it was time, the man himself, my god, Armin Van Buuren, and what a set he played, from the word go he had my mind, body and soul in a State Of Trance, much love Armin, much love.

WELLLLL....:) heres my report!!

Gerry and I turned up half an hour into Strangis' set. The vibe was amazing and it felt like i had turned up at a family reunion with all the TA's there....(very classy soups, drinking champange from a paper coke cup ;) CLASSIC!!). Its really really great to see so many people supportive! Steve played a really great set, it was great to see arms in the air for Flight 643...got to love that build up :).

These guys F***CKING ROCKED IT. Ass shaking tunes in the sun, perfection. They played a funky set with some really sexy tracks, kept it at a nice level that kept the crowd on their feet for the whole set. And talk about boys who tear the mixer apart!!! Some nice work was happening there. As for tracks...um ill have to ask Tachyon and get back to you, as he seemed to ID nearly every single track. I actually enjoyed this set much more than what I saw of Armin.

*edit...pete i thought their mixing was okay?? but i was way back up and beyond the hill!!:)

I have never seen Mr Van Buuren before and he was just amazing, a great showman, awesome techincal skills and great mixing style. I expected exactly that, but was still very impressed. Unfortunately due to the crowd doing our heads in we left halfway during his set. But yes I was very very very impressed to say the least. And boy he does have a cute smile!! :)

BTW Future really have to something about traffic contol in and out of the main area in to the main floor, because Scott and I were really quite fearful of being hurt with all the pushing and trampling...it was scary!

Anyway, all in all it was a great day, the crowd didnt really agree with me much...but at least i can say that i have been :)

Love to all the TA's who helped me have a great NY. Best luck for 2005.

weather was not as hot as last year's SD, but main arena was way way way more packed than last year.. and less staffing for traffic control? i remembered from other summa they had staff for traffic control at every passage leading up to the main arena? and yesterday they had almost none?

had an absolute ing ball meeting fellow TA and other non-TA friends.. what a way to begin 2005!

"Carte Blanche - Carte Blanche (?unknown new remix?)"

was this the euphony remix? [bit more hard dancy - on tidytrax]
or a softer trancier one?
sLiCk_NiCk
not sure mate but ill def check it out now :)
thanks
SQ-K
I reckon the mix of Carte Blanche might have been Digital Delinquents - 2 Do Anything...?? :)

Edit: Strangis played it at GK 2003, so it's been out a while, if it is indeed the Digital Delinquents track.
narcism

wow what a day/night!

started off the day with catching sean quinn who was pretty good, rocked it along nicely. then caught steve who as always didnt disapoint playinga fkn wicked set, many tunes indeed. got to meet a few more TAs somewhere in there too; vitamin v, euphoric_madman, soups to name a few. chilled out on the hill to midro playing house (LOL!) as well as emerson and deluxe who pleased the crowd well. about half way through james' set travelled down to the dance floor and scored an awesome spot right at the front and centre of the first platform. sweet as view of armin and the crowd below. and armin.... my gosh. what can i say?!?1 unbeleiveable. awesome. totally blew me away.
headed out to qbh hoping to see some more armin, caught the end of panas set which from what i heard was top notch (was good to meet the fella too, seems like a top guy :)). saw steves set, again another job well done steve.
was abit of a let down with armin not playing at qbh, but u win some and lose some. all in all a fantastic day/night!

thanks for set list nick.
emerson and deluxe played from memory; song 2, seven nation army, born slippy, super stylin a few more that i cant remember right now
