Mixing with .1% Increments

Ok, I was wondering if people can tell me there experiences mixing with .1% increments, on average how long does something stay in sync?, I'm wondering this because I'm looking at getting the Denon S1000, and it only has .1% increments (could maybe be made better with an update), the reason I want to go for this deck and not any of the others is I will actually not use it much for mixing, but rather using it as a sample machine, and throwing down loops and other things ontop of my sets, but throwing down a loop ontop of a track for a long period of time I'm wondering how long it would stay in sync before needin to be nudged?, I know I could slightly tweek the turntable thats layin, but thats just some hassle I don't want.
So how do people find it mixing with this step increment? |

| its not a problem with that increment.....even with the .02 it still requires fiddlin...... |

i have the 5000's and if you use the little "push" buttons it works very well. you just have to be on habbit to push or drag every 2 sec or so

ya, you're always gonna have to adjust
i have 2x CDJ 100s and they have .1 and i find i adjust it a bit with the jog wheel. i'm sure if i had cdjs with better increments i wouldnt have to do it asmuch. but i've been using the 100s for about 3years so im very used to them. (hoping to upgrade to the cdj800) |

dam every 2 seconds?, I can't be messin with something every 2 seconds, I will be mixin, drop a loop ontop of the playing track, and then go back and continue to mix on the other deck (think 3 deck mixin), I know I would still have to go back and maybe nudge the CD player now and then due to them never being 100% matched, but I don't want to have to do it every few seconds, if I had it last about 30 seconds then I could deal with it. |

yeah you should try to get the 3000 if possible.
Mixing with .1 a little easier when you have pitch bend buttons. Its horrid if you have to try to keep a mix with .1 using a jog dial, or whatever other types of bending cdjs have. |

Ive got the American Audio DCD-PRC210 CDJ
it has .1% increments, it is a little annoying, but it works well, just keep listening and move the "wheel" or pad... (whatever that thing is called on the 1000)
just move that slightly every 1-4 seconds to substitute a .15 or something...
you know?
I've heard great reviews on that cdj, but i would recommend the dns-3000 becuase its only a little bit more expensive and you get the moving platter |

.1% increments isn't as bad as everyone says. even if you get the 3000's it's .02% @ 4 and .1 thereafter. If you can mix well with .1% increments, you'll be able to mix well on any other tables with lower increments. The bpm counter on the 1000's are great, so you'll be able to use it as a good reference.
btw...they say you won't be able to update the increments with the updates... |

Are you sure, as far as I'm aware, the S5000 when it came out could only do .05% at 4% and now it can do .02% at 4%, but maybe the S1000 is hardware limited.
I dunno what I'm gonna do, I think I'll be going out in abit to a store to mix on the S1000s and see what there like, I just don't actually wanna spend huge money on a top of the range CDJ due to me only using it as a loop machine and sampler, with the occasional track mixed now and then, I really want to get the CDJ1000mk2 but just alot of money for something thats not used much, I have looked at the S3000 and S5000, I don't care for MP3 playback or a spinning platter, I just want something thats good at mixing and is reliable and got hot cues and looping settings.
EDIT: think I'll check out the Vestax CDX-05. |

| Wow, thought for sure that by the time I got home from skiing today, that you would have been spinning on a brand new S1000 for atleast a couple hours. LOL. |

Well just thought I'd see what people say about mixin at .1% increments, and from the sounds I'd have to keep an eye on it way to much which would possible limit me on anything else I wanna do. |

| It may be more difficult but I don't really think it is the end of the world... even if both tracks don't stay together for long, you can always pitch the other track up/down a little bit until they hold for a while (it doesn't take as much time as it may seem) |
