People who want techno should check out Boa's techno night. With techno DJs, I think being a "big name" means jack . Prime example was the resident night with Yaz, Minnie & Preach @ Aria that I went to on Labour Day. One of the best techno nights I've ever heard.

yeah, im not missing his comeback to toronto, i was sad that i had to miss him the last time he was here.

as for the techno nights at boa, they always seem to go under the radar, i know about them but i dont think enough hype is made about them thats why, other than that im more than willing to check out a boa techno night.

Conversion is the fourth Friday of each month!

There are lots of local techno DJs, but the scene is smaller so they don't get as much exposure to the masses. There aren't very many big, regular techno nights bringing in headliners - other than conversion, most big name techno DJs play here for special, "one off" events.

I'm with Graham on the opinion of big name techno DJs - I like hearing them to see what the hype's about, but a name and reputation don't always speak to talent or creativity.

(and Richie is more than a "kinda" techno dj! )

Wasn't Stacey Pullen here last week or so??

That guy is prob one of my fav techno DJ's.. but i'm not really "hardcore" techno ;)

I was reading the review on vacation, wishing I was there... popping my Boa Cherry. Satoshi Tomiie is looking very tempting, however ;)

please do not say the name "satoshi tomiie" in a techno thread, thank you.

Richie is more like one of the inventors or techno.
