I guess I missed it big time. I was struggling at that time living on my own, so I couldn't care much about nightclubbing - but thats for letting me know!

Obviously, but from a Canadian perspective, Richie took things a LONG way.

Let's not argue about who influenced techno more, or invented it, or whatever. The point is that Richie is one of the people on this side of the water that helped get techno where it is today.

..yes he did no doubt, i just mentioned a couple of names of the 'roots' of tekkno..

..he does have his own sound which i like, and he was one of the first, if not the first to use the final scratch if i'm not mistaken..

is it me or is there not enough techno in toronto?

mark oliver usually gives a small dose on saturdays but it seems like there is more house than anything else in the city.

so where's all the techno??

I just saw this thread right now, and YES, I agree. Now that I am here, WHERE THE HELL IS ALL THE TECHNO? Los Angeles is not a techno city. It just doesn't do well out there. So I have a better chance of seeing quality techno DJ's out here.

I posted a thread a few days ago about booking DJ Rush & Dave Clarke. I gave a couple people from here DJ Rush's contact info to see if they can book him, but I don't know when/if that's going to take place. Hopefully sometime soon!!!

I was all up for Dave Clarke until he decided to be an and cancel 2 days before his gig in Montreal almost ruining my whole weekend.

I'll never support or pay to see Dave Clarke after that stunt. I don't care how good of a DJ he is. He can go himself. :)

Maybe it was an emergency? Or maybe whoever booked him didn't confirm it 100% with him, and they were hoping he would make it? Who knows?

It's been well documented why he didn't come.

2 big events in 3 days wasn't enough of a schedule and wallet filler for Mr Clarke.

The guy has about as much of his heart into DJing and Vince Carter does effort in basketball.
