| I thought it was kind of funny too. I took precautions this morning and decided to take the GO train just incase it got REAL bad this afternoon... This isn't a storm... Maybe other regions got hit bad, but Toronto sure didn't |

The snow storm warning itself is a joke. The fact is, we have so many cars on the road, everything is backed up on the highway and major roads ... that's why the snow storm warning is so serious sometimes. Think about all the cars that breakdown when traffic is gridlocked in a snowstorm?
Today's amount isn't that much yet ... a few weeks ago was brutal. Especially when you were the first few ppl who were on the road when nothing was plowed.
If we lived outside of Toronto, on the rest of the hill billy lands ... then it's different, there's isn't that many cars on the roads and even if there's more snow ... it's fine. |

even a few weeks ago wasnt that bad. Wake me up when we have 30 cm at the very least. THATS when you can issue a winter storm warning. 1-29 cm does not warrant a warning.
Then people were complaining about "crappy roads" which were nothing more than a bit of slush. If those are crappy roads id hate to see them in rain.

It wasn't too bad.. the problem is people do not know how to drive in these conditions. I totally freak in this weather, so I choose to leave my car at home and take public transit. |

I was doing the speed limit on the sideroads that day. On the highway though i didnt go over 60 because i think that was the speed threshold for any road that day. What i hate are the ones that go 20 or 30 when they could easily do 60. Also those idiots that keep tapping their breaks for no reason.
anyways "winter storm warnings" rarely keep me home unless they say something like "40 cm of snow, whiteout conditions, and possible freezing rain".
"5-15 cms tapering off by the afternoon" is a joke. |

dad: Liam omg lets go start shoveling the snow
liam: o ffs i can bet that even at 9pmthere aint gonna be thta much and we anyway got a friggin snowblower
4:30pm
dad: omg i need to go out i dont think ill be able to drive out in this snow
liam: k fine ill clear the snow:rolleyes:
4:50 snow was cleared:rolleyes: and we got a big driveway and lots of path in fron of our house being a corner house...
its people like my dad that make the rest of the country feel scared of the most minute things |

the city itself crossed the budget cos of that storm...
and i was here in canada when that happened so it was definitely not 6 years ago...
but it WAS a pretty severe storm |
