I was wondering...

When you listen to Trance music, do you listen from the begining of the track to the end of it or do you skip a min or 2 to the breakdown, buildup or the actual melody?
And, when the melody is finished to you listen to the last min of the track?

:)

I usually try to skip the whole thing.

Nah.

No, the first time I just skip through it, if its any good I listen to the whole thing.

You may as well listen to the radio edit if you only want the melody.

Whole thing

The whole thing, because if you skip you will surely miss something great :)

As for me, I listen to the whole track but I'm just wondering how other people listen to Trance music :)

I don't listen to trance music.

:p

The whole thing, always. It's time consuming, but don't feel I'm properly experiencing a production without listening from start to finish.

When I listen to a track for a first time ---> whole,surpises..
Next times I skip 1,2,3,4 mins....

Usually the whole thing, but I find myself skipping to the next track during the outro quite often since they are pretty predictable on almost all of the tracks...

Trance is my main subgroup, and I listen to the whole thing. I like the progression of the track.

With techno on the other hand, I find the track to be more of a "statement" rather than an "essay". You can listen to a smaller portion of it to get the main idea. But out of habit, I listen to the whole thing.

its either whole thing or a set... if u dont listen either of those 2 (like skipping etc), you will probably miss the essence of edm, climaxes and anti-climaxes
