Psy / "regular" trance hybrids..

Coming from the psychedelic side of trance I've begun to get more interested in more "regular" trance (uplifting/hard). Lately I, by accident, discovered a few songs from Joof records that blew me away. They were some sort of mix between psy/uplifting/hard trance..

Kuffdam and Plant - Seduction (Goa mix) (!)
Miika Kuisma - Sonic kiss
Miika Kuisma feat. John 00 Fleming - Twisted
Aqua source - Waking up the sun (!)

So basically, do you have any suggestions on nice tracks for a psy head like me :toothless I haven't really listened to much regular trance since the late 90's/early 2000 so I'm really clueless. I'm not into vocals or cheese, "Waking up the sun" is probably as cheesy as I can go ;)

And no, I didn't mind Joof remixing mahadeva. IMO it's a very good powerful remix :wtf:

Pretty much anything from the early nineties trance scene? I mean, come on, that's how it all started.

i wouldnt say sonic kiss is related to psy at all

but i think twisted is more acidy goa/psy trance in a modern style, which give you the impression its "normal" trance crossed with older psy sounds rather than the common blippy blop psy of today.

however you do have a point with regards to j00f as he does play a lot of stuff with "normal" trance melodies but psy ttrance structure/beats/bass.

a great example would be vatos locos - tripmonx

as for more tunes of this "crossover" style, i'd recommend just grabbing as many j00f sets from the past year as possible and finding the tracks in them.

J00F Recs are very good in a 'crossover' way, as they're not psy but they bring some elements in at times, or at least are darker than all the happy 'hands in the air' stuff. To be honest tho I can't think of a lot of crossover stuff, as most of the stuff j00f plays is actual psy anyway, even if artists like inf mushroom, astral projection & the likes are considered cheesy or bad by the psy-elitists, they're a good way for people to actually get into the sounds to begin with.

lol you like space monkey? I think it's a lot better here and listening to just trance than psy. Psy artists to me sort of just ran out of ideas imho, i was hardcore psy before. If you are the full-on psy lover then you would probably like hard-trance. As for darker stuff, hmm digweed?
