There was some sniffer dog action at the front of the gates appearently. Tuday Tunite was showing it on Channel7. So many caughth with drugs I can't believe it. Poor dogs did some overtime but still not much success stopping it altogether! And some dick heads got hospitalized again.

i had a fun night but i dont think i enjoyed it as much as previous years. all the acts i saw were good but i just had this feeling that other times i went ive been blown away and amazed and it didnt happen this time. i got there about 11:45 and went in to see prodigy, i didnt realise the door i went into had no floor access but it didnt matter anyway as the place was jam packed and nobody else was beeing let on the floor by the time i was there. grant smillie finished off with his remix of 'blur - song 2' which i love then it was time for prodigy.

i dont have any of their cds and i only know the more popular tracks but i still enjoyed it, it was good fun. i couldnt really see anything where i was standing and i was in constant fear of being crushed by a stupid fat muzza jumping around on the seats behind me (he fell over three times) but it was good. pretty energetic, crowd was rocking and a couple of times the prodigy guys went through the crowd, it was pretty good.

after prodigy i went to see phil k who i thought was playing really good. i only saw about 30 mins or something and ive never seen him before but it was good, dont think i knew any of the tracks. the place was pretty empty for him which was a shame, i thought he was one of the bigger local acts but maybe it was the location and times. he signed the therapy sessions cd cover for me which was great and he seems like a nice guy too. hopefully catch him another time.

at about just before 2am i left phil k and saw dave seaman next door for about 5 mins, sounded alright and then went to go to vodafone arena and was pissed off to see a line going outside to queue up in. i walked around but it was the only entrance into the arena! i went upstairs to check the view and was confronted by barbed wire fences??? wtf??? saw the view from the seats and there was a huge amount of space up the back of the arena. jan johnston was singing 'skydive' which was cool, i went back down and lined up. i was pretty annoyed hehe, getting hot and bothered. a few people were pushing in the line as well, a group of kids thinking they look tough in their singlets and stupid hair cuts but i digress. after about 20 mins waiting or something finally get in and make it through the well spaced not packed out arena to meet tachyon and the crew.

just saw the end of jan johnston which was good, then it was time for mike! started off great, nice and deep the way i like it. his set was good, first highlight for me was wave force, i managed to ID a track and was very excited :p it was a good set i thought, the push classics were great and i was going off. i thought the blue monday track went for too long though and the 'it just wont do' seemed funny at the end. it was good though and the highlight of the night i think. after his set got some records signed which was great and then off to catch dave seaman with master yoda.

got to dave seaman for the last part of his set, finished about 15 mins early so saw about 40 mins or something. it was nice, i thought it was easy relaxing progressive, kinda melodic, was good to listen to but i think i wanted more power after mike hehe. after he finished we waited about 20 mins or something around the side for an autograph so i got both names on the therapy sessions cd which i thought was nice :p

after dave seaman we headed out and got something to eat and didnt know what to do as all the internationals i was interested in seeing were finished and it was getting late. master yoda went out to have a rest and i thought i would go check out rank 1 so i went back to vodafone. got there and there was still a huge queue waiting to get in! i walked upstairs and wasnt too interested in what i heard so i thought im not gonna stand here for another 30 mins to get in and went off to the vip room.

saw ivan gough finishing up, played a couple of interesting breaks tracks. then dan mangan came on with more breaks and built up nicely, last two tracks were great, the new nubreed vs luke chable he told me and something by dousk i think. he was pretty good but finished early. by now it was 6:30 so i went in to see sean quinn who was banging it out at a nice pace but the tracks werent really grabbing me. headed down to hardware to see this ben cromack fellow that jpl was going on about and lasted about 10 mins hehe. nice chatting to you jules but it wasnt very excited and it was late. so i decided to head off home but got sidetracked by rod laver arena cause it was still going and was pretty full. that finished up and it was time to go, saw tachyon and the gang outside and chatted for a little bit then off to richmond station.

all in all i had a fun night but i dont think it was exciting as other years. also as tranceilvania mentioned i was running around with my phone trying to catch up with people (sorry muli! and where the was paulie?? piker!), vi said i looked like i was orienteering! haha ah well. the queues for vodafone were a let down and the barbed wire fences seemed a bit outrageous to me but ah well. hopefully it will be even better next year!

sLiCk_NiCk: 'live another life' was before 'silverbath' and there was another track between 'the legacy' and 'intruder' but dont know what it was :)

yeah! i think 46 people charged with possession and/or trafficking or something. i think my sister and her bf were watching the cops with the sniffer dogs for a while and thought it was funny hehe.

What's with Future Entertainment?? What kind of organisers put only 1 enterence to a room that's meant to hold a few thousand ravers..???!?!:whip:

Future, it's time to pull ur heads out of your arses, :o stop being stingy, and hire the 5 or so extra security guards it would take to have another entry to the arena. :whip: and those lines outside were ing rediculous.

Now to the music. Yes it was good, but I did'nt walk away with a smile on my face... that's the ultimate test to see if u had a good time.

MIKE and Dave Seaman were the highlights. Both their mixing is incredible, absolutely no trainwrecks, and track selection was nice. Dave Seaman was probably my pic, his music is progressive enough to keep dancing, yet still has a few huge break downs. (Those remembering the TT of 2003 where he played "Who Said" in Rod Laver will know EXACTLY what I mean). ;)

Was great to see so many TAs at the event, including all those interstaters, hope you had a ball.... and where are the pics ppl??

Quote of the night, (Some random gerner dancing next to me): "Even though you are not dancing doesn't mean your not dancing"... I still don't get it.

Hope to see you all on the dance floor some time soon.
:happy2:

Still, very entertaining :)

And Finally, Greater numbers of TA lately doesn't mean you gonna see or introduced to many of them. I saw Tachyon, Nick Nack, G dave, Philby (who was running around with his mobile phone all the time)Baseman Scott, Vitamin_V and a girl holding a Signum banner and jumping up and down for the entire set:stongue: My guess she was Kelsta!

naynay - never saw kel with a signum sign... i'd like to say a hearty "nice to meet you" to all the ta's i saw on sunday night, too.... i remember having an awesome convo with tathi nearby virginia whereby i started on a subject which was quite obviously meant to be said to stevie b... that was awkward, wasnt it, tathi haha

This was my first Australia/Melbourne dance event and it was very cool. Prodigy made people go absolutely crazy, that was fun. Not much dancing though, to crowded. After Prodigy we headed to Godskitchen arena to see Jan Johnston, MIKE and Rank 1. Jan was magic, love her voice and the tunes she's singing. MIKE played good music although a bit to slow for me, but that was what I had expected from him. But what surprised me the most was - Australia clubbers hardly don't dance?? Maybe people were really tired after Signum, but still it was really early so I didn't quite understand... Anyway, Rank 1 played awesome tunes just as I had expected (just a bit too much breaks as someone said). All in all a great evening! :)

pity i didnt meet you, scintilla - i'm quite partial to my swedish ladies

(btw melbournites DO dance a lot... we also gurn a lot :))

midro was different this year aye, i sorta enjoyed him for the first few tracks that he played, he played a bit more trancey than i expected him to play
Light The Fuse
Saw most of the prodigy, " em, and they-re law" absolutely packed
Saw the 2nd half of Signum - good fun
Jan Johnson was right the the peaktime for me, so twas fun singing so many classics
Saw about half an hour of Mike and yeah he was kewl. I heard he smashed it at the end with like 5 of his bombs..but i went and spent the next 4 odd hours between seamen and hawtin.
Hawtin, man, luved it. Minimal tech housey stuff...groove along for ages then some unpredicatble mad outta nowhere. So much fun.
Seamen. Fukin awesome uPLifitng electro/prog - his last half hour, up the front, turn around and the room is just full of peoPLe with they're eyes shut in total bliss.
Sean Quinn was kewl, but not a big fan of the prog breaks, but yeah he did his "Piss off, go home" trick at the end. lol.
And Ben Cromack was absolute precision.
fun fun.

Great night over all! Jan was just great she is has the most bootiful voice and her energy was amazing!.. Stayed for abit of MIKE set to see Richie Hawtin... Techno at its best!!.. Still would of loved him to play minimal and ended his set with a Mathew Jonson track like he did in Sdy 2Tribes! Prodigy was brillant! Rank 1 played awakening! ah! Made my night! Great to see Midro start off with Geoff laws project - dr king's dream (Frank J remix) and Armin - Bluefear!

And great to meet the 2 special TA boys from Syd! (You know who u are ;) )

And it was cool to see Slick Nick, Pana, Nick, JPL, James and who ever else i saw!
