Well I know there are a couple of poisonous shrooms from cow dung such as some white ones. I have been shrooming several times but this time I wasnt to certain about certain shrooms and I've been doing a lot of reading and found that there is an extremely deadly kind called galerina that typically grow on trees but i didnt find anything saying that it grew in cow dung. I have searched tons of photos and have seen that the shrooms are none of the mentioned poisonous types but I am hesitant about the Galerina as I cannot tell the difference. I have eaten shrooms several times but after all this reading about the Galerina I am kind of paranoid...Can some1 pls help?
Thnks

Don't eat random shrooms you find growing.

why take a chance?
no offence, but i really don't undertstand you tolerance for danger (balancing costs vs benefits).

I didnt pick any 'random' ones i can usually tell the difference since I have done it several times..Just this time i wasnt quite sure..Thats all. Always pick the brown ones with the purplish rings...But a couple today kind of threw me off, that is why I ask...Does anyone else have any ideas if specifically the galerina grows in cow dung???

There are no species of Galerina that grow in cow dung. The two most toxic species "Deadly Galerina" and "Deadly Lawn Galerina" either grow on grass or on decomposing trees. However, there are two species of Calvatia that have been known to appear on dung which are fairly toxic.

You should pick up a comprehensive guide to mushroom hunting with color photos and full descriptions. You can even get some at Barnes and Noble and Borders

I just don't get it...for $30 you can get a spore syringe and make a grow chamber for them, and then have a pound of mushrooms that you know are psychedelic. It just seems silly to take the chance and pick them like that.
