Is it just me or are most of the vocal tracks that get released now days total crap? I really prefer no vocals.

Good vocal tracks are harder to come by these days but there are still a good few that come out that are VERY VERY pleasing.

No, it's not just you.

The days of Mercury & Solace have since past. But they'll return in time. Maybe sooner than expected.

Can you name some?

Vocal tracks that have really stood out in my opinion last year or two are as follows:

JFOS - Do What You Want (Infusion)
Kate Bush vs Infusion - Running Up That Hill
Andain - Beautiful Things (Original)
BT - The Force of Gravity (Original) [even though it is popish]
John Creamer, Stephane K and Lance Jordan present Susana - Storm is Rising (Lance Jordan Shoreline Mix)
Infusion - Legacy (Junkie XL)
Amiel - Love Song (Scumfrog)
Dfuse - Everything With You (Original)
Tiesto - Love Comes Again [yeah i know i know, but i really don't mind this one]
Conjure One - Tears From The Moon (Hybrid)
Conjure One - Center Of The Sun (Junkie XL)
Halogen Vs. Bluephaze - On A Bridge (Original Mix)

and then i cant name any more...

While there haven't been many good trance vocals, some of the popular crossover house stuff as of late is pretty nice:

Reflekt - Need To Feel Loved
Flash Brothers - Amen
Deep Dish - Flashdance

and
Dave Seaman pres. Group Therapy - My Own Worst Enemy
Cabala feat. Michelle Chivers - Vision of U << best vocal of 2004, imo

Ah! That is a good track!

I got nothing against Flashdance either.

Also I forgot Sultan - Nightvisions (Vocal Mix) <- that is one of my favorite of '03 from the Isabella EP.

Oh, wow, on second thought I missed a couple good ones:

Odessi feat. Maria Naylor - Over Again << Naylor at her absolute best
Tiesto & Josh Gabriel feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Walking On Clouds << Hawkshaw at her best
Sarah McLachlan - Stupid (Hyper Remix) << McLachlan at her best
Deepsky feat. Jes Brieden - Talk Like a Stranger << Brieden at her best

:p

Speaking of Sarah .. Sarah M - World On Fire (Junkie XL)

Damn, we're listing them out now. lol

Meh.

I prefer Swayzak ft. Kirsty Hawkshaw - State of Grace (Silicon Scally Rework)

Orbital - One Perfect Sunrise << Gerrard at not quite her best, but still great, relatively speaking. :p

Mara - If You Only Knew

Well damn, even though my theory was correct.. I guess there are good vocal track in circulation.. just not as many. And .. most of them tend to be house/prog. Trance needs to wake up. :)

Right, there aren't any good vocal "anthems" anymore. It's all very subtle, sultry stuff. Which isn't bad, but I'd like some powerful vocal anthems too.

Holding On To Nothing was the last solid one I remember in the past two years, though a cool remix of Over Again could easily hit that level again, I think.
