With the feminists on it and the book that says "women are persons".

PC has officially come to our currency. The next round of bills will probably be celebrating buddha or something.

my favourite is the $5 bill. There is nothing more Canadian than a hockey scene.

The native art one is cool if the art itself werent so ugly. They should have put one of those inuit landmarks on it instead.

The feminism thing? Sorry but there are a lot more worthy scenes in Canadian history worth printing. How about the first Canadian in space? Or our victory in the War 0f 1812?

i am appalled at the fact that Henry VIII was not used in this rendition..

I think I've seen it once or twice but honestly, I don't remember what was on it...

I seem to recall the "Woman are Persons" thing...

Would you have been ok with the bill if there had been a bunch of bare breasted women burning bras on the front of the bill? This is not about feminism at all, it is about simple HUMAN rights, and we are all humans and deserve to be treated as such. This bill is commemorating the correction of errors in thought that were made a long time ago and should NOT be forgotten.

It was a long time ago so some people probably take it for granted that women were not considered people at one time in this country. Women did not have the same rights as men. Women were not allowed to be doctors or lawyers, nor were they allowed to go to school past a certain age. Even when they were allowed to work alongside men they were paid much less than their male counterparts.

As a women who is has the chance to do things that women in the past did not, I appreciate the opportunities I have to get a university degree, have a fulfilling job and be able to vote in elections for all levels of government. This isn't some feminist crap. I am sure if men had not been allowed to do all of these things just because you all had penises you wouldn't be complaining about celebrating the fact that you were considered a person.

It sounds weird but is quite true women were not PEOPLE in the eyes of the law. I would much rather revere events in our history that had a positive effect on the country and that make us remember why we are lucky to live here as opposed to bitching about every little thing that isn't perfect about it. No country is perfect, we can always make things better, but all things considered we have it pretty freaking good here.
