+1

although this should serve as an example to other managers not to take weaker opposition for granted and field 2nd string teams because these weaker teams show a lotta heart and determination when playing the big guns ...hopefully we wont be making the same mistake tomorrow

I remember all the pool fans saying how they were going to thrash man u at anfield, just because they had a new striker who was a sub anyway. Its like music to my ears.

I cant believe it. Liverpool are so inconsistent its unreal. I am a Liverpool fan myself and this season has been nothing short of . So many chances thrown away to pick up 3 points, we have the ability to be pushing for a top 3 spot but when will it ever come?!?!?

Bastards.

I remember when liverpool used to have mainly english players in their squad and you could always expect to see a mostly british lineup, but nowadays its just second rate spanish players.

Its Benitez's first year, you cant expect too much from him this time round. I mean look at how Newcastle are doing now with a new manager, when they were up there with us last year.

Plus, were in the Champions League last 16 and probably favorites of all the premiership clubs to go through. So hes moving the club on.

Also, the groundwork for the team is there. Morientes, Baros, Gerrard, Alonso, Riise, Luis Garcia, Hyppia, Carragher and Kewell are all great players and at their best are unstoppable. By playing the youngsters, at least he can see whose gonna be good for the first team in the future. Plus bear in mind they got us to the semis of the carling cup, when didnt utds youngsters draw at exeter????

The FA should seriously consider capping the number of foreign players on each team. Doesn't anyone notice the correlation between the influx of players from the Continent and an increased amount of diving/acting/less physical play? The game has been ruined in my opinion...it's almost as bad as bloody basketball these days.

Firstly you have to be joking if you are considered favorite to progress more than any premiership club in the champions league. The odds so far are

Milan 5/1
Barcelona 11/2
Juventus 6/1
Chelsea 7/1
Man. Utd. 9/1
Arsenal 10/1
Inter 10/1
Real Madrid 12/1
W.Bremen 16/1
Liverpool 16/1
Bayern Muni 20/1
Lyon 20/1
B. Leverku 22/1
Monaco 25/1
Porto 33/1
P.S.V. 40/1

And that was before liverpools recent run of form. Also out youngsters may have drawn at exeter, but we are through to the next round none the less, you are not, plus we have beat you twice this season. So it seems like you have got the statistics grossly wrong.

*edit* Also united's youngsters drew at stamford bridge, and are doing as well at the moment.

I just realized how digusting the name "Liverpool" was :nervous:

But if u look at those odds, then Barcelona 11/2 are favorites and therefore should beat Chelsea 7/1, Milan 5/1 are favorites against Man Utd 9/1, Arsenal then are favorites against Bayern Munich, and Liverpool and Werder Bremen are evens to go through.

So Arsenal favorites of English clubs for next round, then Liverpool, then Chelsea and finally Utd. So i suppose we're second favorites of the Clubs to go through!!

Anyway, i never said Liverpool were better than utd, i just said that the groundwork is there for the future and that our youngsters have had a good run of form until the Burnley game.
