But I got to watch Justine Henin-Hardenne at the practice courts, and the CLOSEST one to teh fence too. That was ing INCREDIBLE... better than watching a match bc you were SO CLOSE. I didnt even realize it was for for a few mins. Really took a while to sink in... I was floored! I was NOT expecting that kinda reaction from myself when I saw her up close and personal for the first time. It shocked me. She singed one of those giant huge fuzzy tennis balls. It was a very great day for me.

I recall getting VERY drunk there too that day in the sun! It was so ing glorious! Wonderful afternoon and evening.

Even at 5'5 shes still a very tiny, tiny tennis player... when many of the greats are so tall, pushing over 6 feet! I have so much respect for Justine! So much.

Nice! I saw Clijsters warm up on the practice courts last summer before she pulled out during her match with Stephanie Dubois from an injury. You are right... get to be so close! I was disappointed I had just missed Martina Hingis though :(

Also.. my boyfriend and I were also pretty loaded for most of the matches we saw.. especially when there was a 3 hour rain delay once... good times!

Getting hammered (be it in the sun or bc of rain delay) at the Rexall Centre at York is a GREAT way to spend a day while watching tennis! :D

You'd love it! Nothing beats slamming down some drinks and watching the game on the huge screen at the Heineken bar partying with all the Swedish and Dutch fans, always a highlight each year ;)

Hope Safin wins tonight :eyes:

Yah, Ancic and Ljubicic have really been head-lining the top of the Top 10 bracket in the past year and a 1/2 especially! I must say I've never really paid them much mind though wile watching, but more and more I need to start too.

And WOULDNT YA IN KNOW IT Ljubicic lost 2day in the 1st in round:whip:
Ancic has moved on pretty easily....
Tbh, he is the one to watch out for much more than Ljubicic Jem.
He's much younger and has much more of an upside.
2007 will be a big yr for him.

I also wanna see what Brad does w/ Andy Murray. His game is gonna get very fun to watch I think!

The day he hired him my expectations have soared for Andy Murray.
Brad Gilbert is a proven GREAT coach - Roddick's not what he was without 'em
I like his game a lot, its very unpredictable what shot he's gonna play.
He will be a top 10 player at some point.

IMO as well (of course ;)) Henin IS the best damn women's player out there ... even MORE impressive when you consider her SMALL 5'2" (or was it 5'4"?) stature! Its not easy coming against player with massive height advantages over you in tennis.
I hope her health stays strong in 2007.

Best women's player overall, no doubt imo

You wanna talk NERVOUS.

JESUS CHRIST MARIA! !

Holy ... I came in at 930 and it was in the 1/2 half of the 3rd set.

HOLY was I worried for a while.. a LONG WHILE! I thought she was completely done! I did. So many unforced errors. Frustrating to watch, esp when Sharapova does it.

Man, I was starting to really fret. I hate that feeling. *stress* But she was hurt or struggling REAL BAD>.. i hope its not a major injury thats gonna put her outta thie tourney! :(

You could see how hard it was for her to keep playing.

Im glad she pulled through, but if her opponent Camille Pin had one, that would have been ok though. The frenchwomen played one HELL of a game. I was impressed. First time Id seen Camille play before. I like her game, Id love to see her rise above 62 in the world.

Watching Nadal vs. Kendrick right now... Loving the ing match. Both are incredible players to watch!

The heat was impressive today down under. 102oF outside... what.. .that means it was prolly about 112oF on the courts then... since rebound ace really reflect heat quite well and makes it i think about 10oF or so hotter on court! yikes! :D

(myself though, ID LOVE that damn heat! GLORIOUS!)
