About Pac being overrated. I agree. But here is the thing. Pac was never really an "em cee" due to the fact that he wasn't out battling and he really didn't have that great of a flow or delivery. But the beauty of Pac's music lies in the fact that he was an excellent writer. He was a poet/writer before he was a rapper. The rapping just allowed him to gain riches and fame. He had everything. The looks, the intellect, lyrics, and was a good actor. This allowed him to move on and succeed even though he was just an average em cee delivery wise.
But yeah to the guy complaining bout old school not being mentioned. I mentioned some, but for sure Slick Rick, Busy Bee, T3, MC Shan, Marley, Boogie Down, Juice Crew, EPMD, LL Cool J and many many others paved the way. Amen to that. |

Nobody delivers guest appearances like Luda nowadays. I find him a bit too much and not varied enough over a whole album, but whenever he comes into somebody's track and drops a handful of bars it's dynamite every time. Hell, he even made Usher - Yeah sound cool for a minute. |
Dude get out of here, he almost singel handedly ruind the track, hew deliverance on track was pure trash |

I dunno if Yeah qualifies as crunk, but the sound Lil' Jon stands for is just hideous to my ears. The track was pure to begin with, but Luda's guest appearance actually made it listenable for a moment, even if it isn't among his best. |

Luda is one of those guys who has so much talent, but simply doesn't care how he uses it. If you listen to his first LP "Back For the First Time" you will hear something way above avrage. On his next 2 albums his quality dropped, but on his latest "The Red Light District" he went back to his old self. What ruins Luda is the fact the he can't give up his commercial appeal. If he did that, his content would be so much different and then his hot flow would be looked at in a different manner. Seriously, he has a good delivery. He just needs to quit with all the stupid apperances. I think he had the most appearances in 2004. He was on everyone's CD. Also, "Yeah" is a crunk club-banger with an R'n'B twist due to Usher's poor vocals. However, the beat is puerly crunk and Lil' Jon is a genius when it comes to this. He puts out a very simple yet infectious beat, makes caucasian American fall in love with it, and on the side he's collecting his money. Can't hate on him, even though crunk movement has always been terrible for hip-hop. Only crunk that actually was good is from people like UGK, Hitman and old old Three 6 Mafia. |
