been off them over a week, today was the hardest day.

anyone else quit succesfully? how long does it take for the craving to go, will they ever?

hardest part is gonna be the nights out :whip:
beats and beeps
I found that having a cig helped me greatly.

Then a couple weeks later I realized that I lost.:(

I have slowed down, but quitting is really difficult. We shall see if I can do it eventually. It's easy when I'm not around smokers or have a reason not to smoke, but that's not all that often.

haha there has to be someone out there who has succeeded!

I quit over a year ago.. I was walking out to my buddys car and we smoked my last two, and never had the urge to go buy another pack.
Actually I dont recall have any real bad urges either.I smoked for 3-4 years. I was also a pothead at the time so I was able to "lean" on something else. I stopped pot too...it was a little harder but not as bad as I thought.

For me it was about me wanting to stop. Everytime my girlfriend would bring up quitting Id smoke more. I kinda looked at it like: I dont want to be at the mercy of a substance. I took me a while to put my foot down but I actually feel alot better now. Im not coughing up nasty things in the shower and smelling like an ashtray. Now the smell is too much...I cant be around it unless its outside and that makes it easier because its so nasty smelling.

Good Luck.

Same with me, decided to quit after my first time at the gym, went for a run and felt well rough, outside thought about having a smoke but the thought made me nearly puke so i decided then that i was gonna pack them in.

At least quiting has worked for someone!

cheers.

First two weeks are the hardest. Just stay away from all the things that make you want to smoke, or places you would normally smoke at. Either that or chain smoke for a few days in a row, at least double what you normally do. After that you won't want to smoke for at least a week, so it cuts the quitting time in half. Worked for me when I was at the bar every night and couldn't possibly think of lighting up after that week.

i quit ever since after new years eve. i still smoke when i go out (which i'm keeping to usually 1 night a week and 1 night on the weekend), but it's not nearly as much as i used to. i've stopped smoking during the day. i used to take at least 2 cig breaks at work and i'd always smoke one on the way to work and the way home. i don't even really crave them, so i figure i'm alright with just smoking when i go out drinking.

i was gonna quit everything after new years, but i decided "everything in moderation" was a better goal.

This month is actually my 13th month free of cigs. Mind you I still smoke quite a bit of weed. My whole trick was to quit long enough so that if I thought about smoking one, I wouldnt, because all that time would be a waste. Another plus was that I smoked weed so often that a cigarette would taste like an un-filtered Camel or Marlboro Redbox to me :stongue: . Just silly mindgames I put myself through to quit.
