:haha: :haha: :haha: I've had those... You're just about to just slip into sleep, then all of a sudden you jump awake. I really hate that though.

Also, does anyone else get that falling sensation? You're asleep and then all of a sudden it feels like your falling and you wake up?

yeah i was gonna say that this is the 'falling out of bed shindig' - of which everyone has done sometime.

dont exactly know why people enjoy it - it certainly happens occasionally...but why would you wanna think youre fallin outta bed?!? its a bit of a rush, but a rush that leads nowhere and never existed|

I've been have the falling feeling one a bit frequently lately. I think it's a pretty cool feeling, but

quote:
One is called an "auditory sleep start." Here, instead of waking with a twitch, you wake to a very loud snap or cracking sound that seems to originate in the center of your own head. Sounds very unpleasant. Another, a "visual sleep start," replaces the crack with a blinding flash of light, also coming from inside your noggin or your eyes.

I've also had both of these, and they can deffinately mess with you. The auditory snap was really loud, and when it first happened, I was flipping out trying to figure out what had fallen over or popped somewhere in my room. The light one is like when you have all of your windows open during a thunder storm with the flashing lightning. Weird when it happens when there isn't a storm outside, though.

That used to happen to me all the time when I would fall asleep in class, I would wake up, and like trip in my desk...it was ing weird. Yeah, thats one of the most intense things I've felt really. Freaked me out.

I tried dreaming that I was falling like many of you.. Just falling from some sort of high building and the ground getting closer and closer. Then when you think the dream must be ending before hitting the ground, you HIT IT, but with no pain, only waking up very shocked. Wonder what it means ?

:haha: :haha: :haha: Nice thread. This has also happened to me(i bet every1 has experienced this b4....). It's ing embarassing to experience that sudden jerk when ure in the seating and sleeping in the train, and suddenly u jerked and ure awake. Been some time I had one of this jerk already...

Yeah I get those too. I get them alot at school when I'm trying to sleep, then I wake up and look around to see if anybody saw me...:nervous:

i do the EXACT same thing. i doze off, and my elbow gradually slips off the desk, and i dream, and then i jump when my elbow slips, and i jump, and then look around to see if people saw me. strange that no one has ever saw me.

Yeah, I get them as well, although they seem to be more of a jerk reaction then an electrical shock feeling. It is very simular to the jerk reaction you get when you almost loose you footing on some ice or something or your chair almost (or does) fall backwards. :)

Yeah, my girlfriend and I were talking about that at the start of the post, and then you started mentioning it...
Yeah, we both get em, really really weird. We both get the whole falling sensation feeling just when you're just about to fall asleep. When it happens, i normally end up sitting bolt upright....
Lol.

Yeah...that feeling is my signal that I'm going to go to sleep momentarily, I get it almost always before I fall asleep in bed.
