On a fundamental level I could never support this. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to describe that kind of legislation - it's more like borderline insane, and it's going to be yet another thing the rest of the world will make fun of us for in time.

However, ultimately I think it would be good for Ontario in particular - not because it'll help keep the air cleaner, but because 9 out of 10 minivans I see on the road have a -for-brains behind the wheel. Maybe getting forced to drive a compact will teach these dolts that they don't own the road.

HOWEVER, if they're going to take away my right to drive an exotic sportscar, then they can right off.

Also GIVE US MORE DIESEL CARS! Goddammit, I don't care about the reputation they have, modern diesels get better emissions than your average gasoline engine does (using, of course, particulate filters). Superior fuel economy too. Why do you think so many cars in Europe are diesel powered? Economical, cheap, environmentally safer than gasoline.

All my relatives in Poland drive diesel cars. Most of them, including my dad, drive newer diesel-based cars which are just as good, and better than fuel-powered cars.

And sorry Jayx1, but this is one thing that should be put into effect. It pisses the living hell out of me when I see a 5'2 lady driving a frickin Escalade, where she can't even see over the ing steering wheel. I don't give a if it's her choice or not, the fact remains that she's a hazard to everyone on the road and should be banned from driving a car like that.

i think its time that the government issue everyone a prefab house, beige uniforms, a chevy geo and food rations so we can just skip the small steps in between.

In some cases, yes. Like the ban of pitbulls...thats just ridiculous. But in this case with the SUV's, it makes sense imo. Not just for fuel efficiency, but safety.

Ideally though, I think the gov. should overhaul their licence's. You shouldn't be allowed to drive a bigass SUV on a regular G licence.

They all make sense if you listen to the right people.

The problem is that this is supposed to be a society where you have the right to choose your own lifestyle. Instead we have the government interfering in EVERY ASPECT of life and it's getting worse and worse.
