Windows XP - How do I turn off taskbar scrolling when >19 windows are open?

I can't stand this, Windows 2000 didn't do this.

Look to the right, I have to click that down arrow there to see what else is open if I have more than 19 windows open - I don't like the grouping of similar programs under one taskbar button either, so, that is not a solution.
Can I even get rid of this? In win2k (and prior) buttons in the taskbar just adjusted and scaled down in size to make room for the new windows - I wouldn't mind having this back. :whip: |

Seriously. Do you really need all 19 windows open at once? :haha:
I wish I could help you, but I have no clue as I haven't maxed out like that. |

Yes.

I do a lot of multitasking, 2 monitors helps too. (^old win2k screenshot) |

That's nuts dude. How do you remember which is which? I imagine that could get a little bit tricky. BTW - You going to WMC? |

Yes, I'm going to WMC :) It's not hard to navigate if it's what you've always been used to, alt-tab is always a lifesaver.
I do use Mozilla or Firefox these days, simply for the tabbed browsing.. There are certain web pages I need open, just as there are certain remote SSH sessions I need open to various servers - it just becomes annoying to constantly log into things when I need to do something quick.
I can go through that old screen cap
1 - AIM (don't use it anymore)
5 - Folders/Directories open (bit excessive, usually keep it down to 2-3)
6 - SSH/Remote server connections
8 - MSN
1 - IRC
1 - Photoshop
11 - IE (1 TA admin page, 1 for stocks, 1 for news, 1 for slashdot, others are likely links sent via email)
1 - Email (Thunderbird rocks)
1 - command prompt - faster to do quick searches for things in dos than to bother with a GUI
1 - Winamp
1 - Servu (doesn't have to be in taskbar)
I think that's it. |
