o ing k.
Just went outside to shovel my driveway and sure enough the front righthand side of our van is smashed in. Its CLEARLY from the neighbours across the road. Their daughters getting married today and theres like a million cars on the road and these old geezers keep reversing in and out of the driveway. As soon as I mentioned it to one of them right away its a ing peep show out of their windows. On top of all that my mom had the nerve to ask "are you sure you didnt smash it last night?"
:whip: :whip:
hmmmm what to do??
A - Molitov Cocktail the neighbours drive way and ruin their wedding party.

B - Call Insurance.

C - All of the above.

........Im open to any suggestions.
Think my Insurance would go up for something like this?

call the cops
call the insurance company

Do you have any proof that it actually was them? Without proof that THEY did it, you won't be able to claim off your neighbours insurance. So if you claim, then you may well see an increase in your own insurance premiums.

thats what I was afraid off.. they hit the bumper so no paint would have rubbed off onto their cars, BUT you could clearly see the reverse tracks coming off thier drive right into our van.. but thats most likely covered up by now.

Same happened to me pretty much. Car was parked outside of a friends and then someone back into it. You could see the scratch on their car where the backed into mine, but yet when confronted, they denied denied denied. No proof that they hit it.. No witnesses and .. So in the end we couldn't do much.

If you notify the insurance company they'll more than likely up your insurance because of it. IMO you should just pay to get it fixed yourself like I had to (probably not more than $200 to fix the bumper)..

It sucks but happendes eh.

A. should definately be out of the question cuz you'll just be making enemies with your neighbors and if you miss and something catches fire you could get charged with arsony. If you call the cops and not the insurance company the neighbors might get intimidated at the site of seeing the police and come and admit to it.

cops....

file a police report and you're set. it'll all work out in your favor at the end, just dont hesitate to call the police.

do it right now. stop thinking about it. pick up the phone and dial the numbers. NOW... no, not later... nooooow :p

Your auto-insurance should still compensate you if you can prove that the accident was not your fault (ie: it happened while you were not driving your car and that your car was not in use at the time).

If that doesn't work, you might try your home-owners insurance if you have it, since your car was parked on your property (just a guess?)

Filing a police report ASAP will probably help you very much as well

slash some tires. THEY will have prove that you did it. screw their wedding, they screwed your car.

why didnt u take a picture of the tracks, your car, and the car u think hit you??
beats and beeps
Maybe the tire tracks are frrom your car, leading to theirs, so it is infact your fault, and you should just be happy they arent charging you.

Besides, how often can you see clear tar marks on the road? Were they driving through paint or what?
