i just tried djing now :eyespop: :eyespop: its sooooo hard, pain in the ass if u ask me!
but i will keep trying, need more tips :D

I'll make the argument that playing a musical instrument helps develop a sense of rhythm, timing, etc, which definitely helps if you DJ. |

Couldn't have said it better, but if you want to be a famous dj you need connections and an ambitious personality, meaning you have to stick your name every where possible and find catchy promotions for your mixes (or sometimes use some else's mix and say its yours). The good thing at the moment is that a lot of people still believe that djs have super special talent, but those of us who have tried it at least once know that is a pile of bull crap.
Look at it this way, do you really want to stand there and mix songs or would you rather be in the crowd dancing with a beautiful girl. I am going for option #2 on this one. There are a million other good ways to make money in this world other than djing. |

Hi:
Well I am going to start as well and Ill be needing allot of help here, But what I want to actually do is start with the really basic and normal set and then when I got used to some skills and found my way around Djing and actually became someone who understands what it takes to be a Dj in 1-2 years I get a real and proper kit,
So basically what I am asking for here is can anyone tell me/us what a good enough really basic gear can be to START it off!!!
I’ve done a little search on the net and found some deals which don’t look that bad. Was wondering if you could check them out and let me know what you think of them, because I went looking for technics Turntables first and I found it abet 2 much to start with! But maybe I am wrong, guide me!

then what makes a DJ on the level of PVD, tiesto, etc.? it's the production isnt it?
i know some places sell DJ sets, with all the basics u need to mix. how much do they cost if anybody knowS? |

To get to the level of PVD and Tiesto you need DJ skills, an ear for great tracks, great managment and PR, production skills, and most importantly luck. |

the first step to DJing is to come up with a name that will be like totally cool. I suggest "DJ Slain" or "NialsJD" or "DJSaline"
Next, you have to go to your local walmart and think of a perfect investment of gel or hair styling material. You will need about 4 pounds of it a night, so get something that will get you the big spikes, but is affordable for 32 days a month.
Next, watch the movie castaway and learn about perfect dental care, which means just eat rocks or throw ice skates in your mouth, make them as messed up as u can.
