I posted this in the now-locked black women thread, but didn't get one response from the two pages that followed. Seems like all people want to do is flame each other instead of answer me. So Im posting it again.
Ill start with a lil story.
There was a soldier in the army of the Russian Empire. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1877 he found himself in a slave market in Turkey, where he bought a Greek slave. He brought her back to the Ukraine, married her, and had a child with her that grew up to be my grandfather's grandfather.
So if this whole thing is about equality, why do thugged-out blacks that call every white guy they meet a cracker or a honky get upset when I call them ******s?
I mean, I know of an actual slave in MY line, and while I sincerely doubt that any of the aforementioned thugs can even trace their ancestry as far back as I can mine, and actually NAME a slave ancestor of theirs, there also the fact that both whites and blacks have been slaves for thousands of years to other whites and blacks, in the time of Rome for example, versus the measely couple of hundred years of slavery in North America. (Another point I want to adress is that I'm a first generation Canadian with only 10 years clocked in North America) In the Ukraine in particular, my countrymen have been the target for slave raids from Turkey that kept occuring for hundreds and hundreds of years, yet no Ukrainian feels hostility to any living Turks in the present.
Even this forum censors n i g g e r but not honky
So, please explain to me how this black white racism thing applies in my case. I'm particularly interested in your opinion if you are black.
And people, please try to keep this civil until I get at least some answers.

What you must realise is that Equality does not mean treating everybody equally.
Minority groups will always get much greater freedom than the larger groups to get greater benefits, more incentives, more freedom to be politically incorrect, and more lenience with punishment.
You can bitch about it all you like, but thats the world we live in.
I'll point out some examples which I have seen with my own eyes, or read in the media, and I'm not insulting these groups at all by doing so:
Its quite alright and almost socially acceptable for an Australian aboriginal to call other Australians 'white c*nts', but if the reverse happens you go to court.
If a 15 year old girl has sex with a man, he goes to jail for 5 years, whereas if a woman has sex with a 15 year old boy she does not go to jail.
If a gym offers female only membership it is counted as fair, and if a business type club has membership for males only they get sued and taken to court on the basis of equal rights.
You see some groups have suffered inequality for many years, and almost in an effort to make up for it society allows them greater benefits and less punishment, not because they feel sorry for them but rather because they realise that it can take additional support to make up the extra ground.
Sometimes the inequality done in the name of equality is fair, and sometimes it is ing far from fair. |

clearly, if one person was able to marry and have start a family with a 'slave' that person wasn't really a 'slave' in the colloquial sense but more like a mail-order serf. slave masters in north america, for example, held slaves as chattel and the best a female slave could've hoped for is status as a well-treated concubine.

again, it's apples and oranges as each country's history with slavery occurs in a different historical context so comparing the "measly" 250 years that african-americans spent in bondage with those of other people is quite useless.
you can educate yourself by reading good some history books. |

agreed, my whole family speaks fluent Russian and we used to live in Moscow. The only person in my family that speaks Ukrainian all the time is my stepfather's bitch of a mother. |

I personally think that on the subject of race there are bigger differences within a certain ethnic group than between different ethnic groups, or what people call 'races', which is not a word I ever use. |

Hey!! I have a best friend thats from Kiev and he never told me about the hate.But a little while ago i met some ukranians and they just HATE russians.All my life i never knew about the problem untill now. My parents are ukranian they never tol me anyhting either. |

You're white, that's all. You might say it's unfair and doesn't make sense but that's how it is.

To the russians ukrainians question
My take is there's always some kind of racism thing going on in the world, it's part of human behavior that stems from the "us vs them" group mentality and the tendency of people to align themselves with a certain group. Its instinctual, its the way our mind works.
It's like when I'm with my friends Ill call a korean guy a dogeater or tell a jewish joke to one of my circumsized friends and, then they might call me a honky or tell a polish joke (im part polish) or a greek fag joke and were cool with that we don't honestly mean what we say, its just for laughs.
The problem is, in my opinion, when its too lopsided. And this is exactly what im talking about with all this attitude towards blacks in North America. |

Nevertheless the guy asked what racism meant and seemingly doesn't know the URL for www.dictionary.com
Don't come back at me with all this rhetorical "No way man.", "It's all relative man.", "Race is just a concept created by the man, man." bull. Race is a word, it exists and has a meaning whether you use it or not. |
