That is extremely intolerant dude. Just because not every person of the Jewish religion holds the same values you do makes them any less important or less Jewish for that matter. Its a religion, people subscribe to it in the manner they chose to, don't forget that. Otherwise you start acting like Judaism is a race, which it isn't, and would in a way be giving some sort of odd justification to Hitler calling it so.
This is why there is so much division in the religion. You have the Orthodox and Hassidics telling the rest that they are worthless and not as Jewish because they don't suscribe to the militant like religious doctrine they espouse. Life just isn't that simple and frankly I don't think people died because of how hard they practiced Judaism, they died simply for being affiliated with that religion. Or even be sort of affiliated to it. |

Considering that about half of my Mom's family and about 3/4 of my dad's family were all killed in the Holocaust, I'm pretty sure I have lost more family members than yourself, so don't throw that in to try and prove any points. It's bone headed rightwingers like you who make peace impossible in the Middle East. I bet you ing celebrated when Rabin was assassinated. You know why I left Israel? To avoid pricks like you. Same reason why I turned to atheism. I was sorrounded by idiot Rabbis and Ultra Orthodoxes which made me sick to my stomach with they inability to change their views and bring some god damn progress to the region.

So, tell me exactly - what makes you Jewish. Englighten me. You're atheist, fine. So, you're Jew by tradition or by inheritance?
and for your information, My father is from Kiev and mother from Minsk - two places hit the hardest by Nazi occupation. My dad was 10 at the time war came to Kiev. He saw his grandparents executed, saw his other grandparents arested by KGB for protesting demolition of the sinagogue in Kiev. My mother lost most of her family - they were all sent to concentration camps in Poland. Out of a family of 40+ people! Her uncle, being only 7 years older than her, was thrown out of a moving train by his parents - the train was headed to Aushwiz.
I have 2 scars on my face from Ukrainian antisemites who beat me every day in between classes for 6 months, calling me "kike face" (zhidovskaya morda) while teachers did nothing to stop it.
I've felt the hatered first hand - have you?
So, tell me what exactly makes you Jewish again? You don't have to agree with my points of view but don't you come here and try to put me to shame for having my views that differ from yours.

Oh, one other thing: I was devastated when Rabin was killed. If anyone stood a chance of making this peace thing work, it'd been him. There's no question that Sharon is a nutjob but I agree with what he said on the matter of the topic. That was not to be considered an endorsement of Sharon.
As a matter of fact, he's the one leading the Jews out of the so-called "occupied territories".
As far as atheism - religion is not for everyone. I'm not following all 613 mitzvot either, but there are certain so to say "pillars". Am I orthodox? by no means! am I concervative? no. But I respect the struggles we're faced with and certain things that are crucial to our survival.
I'm not going to convince you to be religious - coz' I know I am not deeply religious. But I respect our history, our traditions, I try to honor my ancesstors. By arguing here in the heat of pasison I do realize I may come across as radical, but I am not. I just tend to express my views in not the most PC manner.
And as far as religion goes, the Rabbis are responsible for murdering the faith. I go by a principle "Don't let your religion get in your way of G-d".
Nor do I have a problem with interfaith marriages - but I do have a problem when someone tries to supress our roots. The world is a melting pot and we're the tiniest ingredient in it. If we don't preserve it for future generations, who will???? That in itself is what Antisemitism all about - erradication of our history, traditions, faith. Once the people are gone, the rest associated with us will also be forgotten.
We must never forget. Whatever means you use is up to you. |

I don't care about your opinions either, I just care when you tell other people wether or not they are Jewish based on what your beliefs are. You can't say that just becuase someone doesn't follow your rules of the religion that they are not Jewish. |
