I agree when you say that each person has a favorite DJ and i do think that the voting for the best DJ in the world is most likely based on that, but its not only that..there are good and bad DJs out there..we have to give credit to the way they perform, mix, produce their music even that is not the music you like. I think that’s more then only a personal taste. Maybe the voting does not shows correctness on their abilities. In my case I do think Tiesto is the #1 DJ. That’s my personal opinion...but I think he has all the other skills to be there 3 consecutive years. |

psy is as much a subgenre as epic, or progressive, or tech, or whatever. there isn't such a thing as "pure trance". this means, by your logic, armin van buuren doesn't play trance, he plays epic :haha:
and i'd call most of what joof plays full on.. i don't know much about psytrance, but i thought it kinda subdivided on sub-sub-genres: goa, full-on and prog-psy. if he plays full-on -> he plays psy -> he plays trance

Who the cares what its called in the end, as long as you know its one of the major catogories of EDM, IE: House, Trance, Techno, Drum and Bass, or Hardcore... I dont think it really matters beyond that as most of the time its going to be pretty damn close. |

i think u and other people r looking into this way to deeply
listen to some psy trance from a antiworld festival then listen to some trance from gatecrasher there different thats all there is to it why r u trying to label stuff with stupid names like melodic trance ur getting into it to much. |

i never said trance and psytrance are the same thing. i said psytrance is still TRANCE but some people here seem to believe that just because its called PSYtrance its not trance.
