when i talk to people from canada, europe, or even northern U.S. and they find out i live in texas it's always "do you ride a horse to school? do you wear cowboy hats? are you married to your cousin? do you live on a ranch? does everyone have a gun?" etc etc etc. i find it hilarious though, because i live in what? the third or fourth largest city in the U.S.? yep, we're gun-slingers in dallas.

The only stereotype I would make about Texans so far is that everyone seems to be obsessed with football :)

Do you like men too? Hehe, just kidding. But seriously, do you fancy the man for loving? :toothless :tongue2

I live in Texas. I live in one of the 10 largest cities in the US. I don't have a stupid accent. Sports are ok but only because you can get piss drunk while pretending to pay attention. I like some banging techno music, dirty ass breaks, and nasty DnB. If you think the show "Cops" shows that mexicans are bad, well it doesn't it shows how corrupt the executive branch of the US government has become. They air that on our state run propaganda machine(FOX News) and the masses(imbeciles) lap it up and ask for more. I wish we could be a part of Mexico again.

Sweetheart, miami's in florida.

I think tmft n octane just about nailed the screw in with the best come-backs EVER!!! So I'm not going to reaffirm what's so obvious to me and yet nothing but an elementary school lesson for you. Your persistence strikes me as someone who isn't looking for an answer but an excuse to promote old school ingnorance. It's not kewl.

You've missed the point however that we've happily taken onboard the views & advice given to us, how else will we know what places are really like when all we have is biases media sources etc, eg the only texan I know is Stone Cold Steve Austin, who Am I to say that every1 isn't a clone of him. I've been interested reading it anyway, so don't think we're ignorant, everyone is ignorant if they don't know facts, but at least we've been told some :)

Believe me, there are many who bear resemblance to stone cold steve austin here in TX. MANY things are bigger in TX. :tongue2

Bill Gates, George Foreman, George Strait, Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConoughey, Patrick Swayzee, Phylicia Rashaad, Steve Martin, Tommy Lee Jones, Nolan Ryan...

All from Texas. It really is a kewl place. I think you should visit. Not many TP's to hotbox here, but if you go deep into MX, I'm sure you'll find reservation where someone will be willing to share.

Wow. Well, let's tackle (football reference here [and that's American football not SOCCER]) this:

"...we've happily taken onboard the views & advice given to us...when all we have is biases [biased] media sources etc...at least we've been told some :)"

Anyone else find that statement completely idiotic? Nationalism aside, that's like saying, 'I know the sources I get information from are at best biased, BUT I'm gonna believe everything they cram down my throat and I'm happy that they told me what to believe because I lack the desire, intelligence, or curiosity to discover it for myself.'

If I believed everything I was told about the UK, I'd think God saved the queen (from what I don't know), all the women are butt ugly (thank God for Kate Beckinsale), all the cows are mad, the Spice Girls are the most talented artists in the UK, cheers isn't a sitcom, it's an Aloha, the British parliament is a joke since all they do is laugh during the prime minister's questions, the UK is really a country ruled by the English and everyone else being slaves to them, and the US always had to save them during times of conflict (like from Germany who's people blindly believed everything Hitler told them except for Schindler apparently).

OR....I could just ask what it's like....maybe like on a forum where...ummm...let's see....people from different countries gather...to....oh i don't know...talk about stuff...hmmmm...probably a bad idea...nevermind... ;)

I stopped responding to this thread cause I was too annoyed at Ian & Leaper for acting like trolls (even though they are moderators)...

:stongue: :stongue: the whole generilisations there on the UK are pretty much spot on :p While I can understand that you say we should find out for ourselves, sometimes that's not possible, and to ask the people from wherever is as close to finding out the truth as we can get. It's not trying to be ignorant, it's trying to learn so we can move on from the cliches to actually know something :)
