if u listen later on in that track, as the filter opens up, ull see its actually a square, or posibly a combination of square and sine |

Square Wave + Pulse Width Modulation does it for me :)
But really it's not the shape of the waveform, it's what you do with it that counts! Since by themselves you're in video game music terrority. |

Many synths have these waveforms in them: sine, sawtooth, pulse, square, triangle etc etc...
If the question is: What is your favourite synth? Then list your favourite synth... Virus, Nord Modular, Supernova etc etc
If you're talking about SYNTHESIS?:

- Granular
- Subtractive
- Wavetable
