Heh, me and 2 others were being held in a jail til a pre trial one weekend and a guard told the other inmates to with us. BTW, we were seperated from them since we were just being held for a lil while. But as they would walk in from the yard they picked out my buddy and started screamin stuff at him....'oohhh, id like to take those orange pants right down'....lol
kinda wierd sitting at pre trial next to this big dude. He went right before us and I found out he stabbed his girlfriend in the neck in their drive way. thats the point when I decided not to break the law anymore. :wtf:
fun times. the night guard liked us though, he'd give us a bunch o snacks n crap. but when we were sleeping id wake up every hour er so and there would be a new guy in our cell sleeping on the ground....ended up getting 3 new guys in there. :wtf:
fun times. |

all these experiences you're talking about + my own are making me think that prison is way too easy
i mean, it seems like any mentally stable person can survive in jail without a problem.
do you think prison should be like this? or should it be harder? |

neither. Its too easy now, and being harder only adds to the problem, which is the individual. There is something wrong with them that made them get in there. Prison or jail should attempt to correct that.
But that gets into the flaws of the system with an overuse of ineffective punishment.....theres a lot wrong and it all starts with your momma. :wtf:
so it shouldn't be harder or the same, it should reorientate its goals and be more effective at that. |

actually, my whole time in there, i didnt see any attempt at 'correcting' us other then the discipline (which is only used to facilitate everything more efficiently) |

I know, its more socially acceptable and cheaper to punish someone. but it really does nothing. it only helps a minimum of people. no government wants to spend the money and resources on a true correctional facility.
also thats assuming the laws in place that people broke are fair ;).
and that the court process isn't flawed :wtf: |
