Mostly, only my mum comments.

James Zabiela : she likes most of it, though she asks me to turn down the bass alot.
Sasha : most of it.
Experimental/ambient (Aphex Twin) : likes it.
Northern Exposure series-type stuff: likes it.
Techno : hates it mostly, depends on what kind of techno.
teh Jazz : loves it. :p

June 19, 2002 | In 1997, at the height of the so-called big beat invasion, I walked into a Foot Locker store in Beverly Hills to buy a new pair of shoes. I may have been looking for some Air Max 95s. At some point, house music came thundering over the in-store sound system and strobes began to flash. I dropped whatever sneaker I was holding and waited for smoke to billow into the room while everyone pumped their fists in the air and danced.

Great damn article Orbax.

I've gotten my mom kind of into it, but she's mostly into the classical influenced stuff. Doesn't go for hard trance or techno or anything like that. She will play it in the car though. lol
My dad? We'll just pretend he isn't here and life is good. lol
BTW awesome article on the first page! Where's it from?

My Mum loves chillout and has most of the Ministry Chillout Sessions CDs however she hates any sorta trance or techno. It all sounds the same to her and every 5 mins she's like "Wasn't this song playing before?"...

My mum likes some Sasha, and my dad I think likes some stuff too. Today I let him hear A Tear In The Open since its got Enya in it and he likes that. I blast my music in the house all the time, I'm sure they like it deep down ;)

One of my friends from college (US College, hehe, not Dutch) once made this comment about my music: "It's like robots having sex". That made my day :D

My mum introduced me to EDM hehe - from the mid 90s she's been playing ministry of sound compilation CDs, but she's always liked dance music. In the past couple of years I've got more into trance, and she loves most of the stuff I listen to. Whenever we go anywhere in the car trance is always blaring out from the speakers!

My dad on the other hand hates the stuff, will always turn it down if it's playing - calls it "thud thud" music lol

my dad calls it disco

My parents hate it, they used to not let me go to parties and such. I had to be at school 100 miles away before I was able to go out.

My Uncle(Dad's brother) was really into the techno in the 70's and 80's. I was suprised that he was, cuz now he is like, a high ranking mormon minister, and the parties where EDM is found are choc full of sin and debauchery. He has lotsa old kratwek and juan atkins stuff.

My parents think that because I listen to this music that something ed up is gonna happpen to me like the guests on Oprah or something. I have to call them every weekend just to tell them that I'm not dead yet.

Its probably for the best that EDM doesnt get much commercial success over here. I think if such a thing happned then the pop-EDM form america would assimilate and ruin the few good musics that we have left.

if my mum is in my car, i have to keep it low, or off. if its after a long day of work, and its rush-hour traffik time, i shouldnt even think about popping in a CD. "thats driving me crazy.""its stressing me out.""its all the same beat.""every song sounds the same."
