most desirable - I would have to say is yorkville area! or yonge and st clair for conveinence sake!
the least desirable ________________ (what's this area called??)**EDIT**(Dundas and Sherbournish area) anything on Sherbourne SUCKS, except at king and sherbourne - but even then - sktch at night!
umm, ossignton and dupont area is sktch too - anything on dovercourt and dufferin and dupont, bloor area - sucks too!
for quit areas, i would route for greek town - EXcept for when the taste of the danforth occurs! (but still good eats~!)
anyways that's alll i have to say about that! have a good one!
Oh yeah - I love where i live righ tnow - at Dundas and university - b/c it's a 5 dollar cab ride from anywhere in the club district and I love to go down that way to BOOGIE~!

| quote: | | "But saying that people who are white are moving out and Chinese people are moving in - I wouldn't want to use the word racism, but it's shortsighted to think that only the white people are Canadians and everybody else is an outsider," he added. "That's something that's been happening in the past. It's not well received." |
This is NOT what the councillor was saying. What the councillor was saying is that white people feel alienated and feel the need to move out. He is not saying that Chinese Canadians arent Canadian per se.
Why is it that when minorities feel alienated its a big deal but when white people feel alienated they are supposed to suck it up and deal with it?
I think if any particular type of people feel the need to vacate an area for whatever reason it is a problem. Perhaps the asian community could do more to reach out to the community as a whole. There are many misconceptions about white Canadians in the asian community and vice versa.
The chinese culture is amazing except when it comes to isolation. I dont know why but asians seem to WANT to isolate themselves and its sad because some of the nicest people ive ever met are newly arrived asian immigrants. |

lol.. i wonder why he didn't just say that then
my father knows and works with the councillor personally, he's a better speaker than that.. and he regrets having his comments misinterpreted
and i regret that others misinterpreted what he said ..

| They dont misinterpret. They use it for their own gain. They want to paint this guy as a racist perhaps for their own political benefit? Thats just speculation but the race card gets played all the time when it comes to things like this which is why everyone is so afraid to talk frankly about race relations. |

I agree Jay. I believe Del Grande was being honest but that Mirror reporter on the other hand. :whip:
| quote: | | Cheung also disagreed with Del Grande's assertion that Chinese-Canadians from mainland China have problems with those from Hong Kong, or vice versa. |
lol.. that's the biggest load of crap I ever heard. They obviously don't get along. |

Until minorities admit that the problem isnt just with white people we will never have peace.
Ignorance is abound no matter what colour your skin is. |
