Here's a little ambient mix I did for UKTA Radio last week. It's probably not what you'd expect when hearing the word ambient, but download and see for yourself. Also, it's my first attempt at ever mixing anything whatsoever, so be gentle :p

Sand Leaper's Ambient Adventures vol.1 31.01.05

01 Vibrasphere - Aguas Calientes (Spiral Trax)
02 Daniel Menche - Untitled (Field Of Skin, Track 4) (Soleilmoon)
03 Esa Ruoho - ll101002 (lackluster.org)
04 Tetsu Inoue - Ambient Otaku (Fax +49-69/450464)
05 A Small Good Thing - Someplace South Of Here (Soleilmoon)
06 Single Cell Orchestra - Day's End (IMIX)
07 Speed Jack - Fast (R&S)
08 Electric Company - Around (Tigerbeat6)
09 DNTEL - Suddenly Is Sooner Than You Think (Plug Research)
10 Motoi Sakuraba - Lakes & Marshes With Doubt (Sony Japan)
11 Biosphere - Biosphere (Origo Sound)

i'll defintiely dl this one (it may be like a week tho).

its funny but just yesterday i was listening to 'knockout drops' from single cell orchestra's 1996 album, after not touching that cd for over 5 years.:o

anyway, i looked up discogs and didn't see the SCO's composition you have in your tl. where is that from? thanks.:toothless

one last thing, is that the same biosphere. (nevermind, i just checked dicogs. its the same biopshere from the two a.d. waveform album.

i'm really looking forward to this one now.

It's awfully tempting, believe me. I wouldn't feel comfortable without having proper knowledge of working a mixer and cd decks though, so I'll keep it in mind. I'll drag a bunch of my records along next time I'm in Oslo, hopefully I can get some practice then :)

Wait, so, what did you use to mix it? And you own copies of all the tracks, right? ;)

I used Traktor for the mix itself. All the material on it is either legal mp3s from various websites (lackluster.org being one of them) or my own records.

WoW:eyes:

its very very nice and it completely took me by surprise. now this is ambient, and not that chill stuff which is really trance a very low tempo. (hello folks its not the same)

this totally reminds me of some stuff that came out in the mid 90's, and for that, i thank you. excellent. i also really like the dialogue samples you added. i wish trance djs here would take more risks and play with non-music sounds too. (thats another subject though.)

i look forward to another set.:D

Glad you enjoyed it :) And yup, chilled Solar Stone remixes are certainly not ambient, which more people need to realize.

I've got another mix in the pipeline, a bit more downtempo and melodic this time. I'll have to see how well it goes before putting it up here eventually.
