R.I.D.E. To Super Bowl Sunday

The Toronto Police Service is reminding the public that R.I.D.E. teams will be out in force during and after the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 6, 2005.

Super Bowl party hosts are reminded that they could be held personally liable for the actions of anyone who gets behind the wheel after consuming too many alcoholic beverages.

Responsible hosts should:

• Encourage guests to leave their cars at home.
• Have non−alcoholic beverages and food available at all times.
• Serve alcohol yourself instead of having an open bar.
• Don’t over−serve. Stop serving alcohol long before the game ends.
• Have cash on hand for taxis (much cheaper than a lawsuit).
• Be prepared for guests to sleep over.
• Use designated drivers.
• Drink responsibly yourself.

Whether you are hosting a Super Bowl party or just attending one, our
message is to have fun, but be responsible and don’t put yourself or others at risk by drinking and driving.
