Biodiesel is rad as . I'd love an old MkII Golf diesel to convert to grease/biodiesel fuel.

You can convert your diesel engine for like $1500-2000 to run on straight vegetable oil ;)

I think its awesome. I'm a environmental geologist so i'm all for it. We had the Veggie Bus stop by our campus a couple years back....they get their oil from restaurants and its free....

Biodiesel is getting less and less expensive. There are several companies in the US that manufacture biodiesel in large quantities. Its kinda expensive right now (around $3 US per gallon) but it has dropped in price quite a bit in the last couple years. Also they are looking into oil extraction from soy beans. Its pretty expensive right now but once they figure out a better extraction process it should be fairly cheap. They can get a lot more oil from soy beans then from any other source.
